• Two servicemen from Hunter Army Airfield describe tent stalking incident on uninhabited Little Tybee Island

• LOCATION DETAILS: Little Tybee Island lies across Tybee's Back River, and slightly southwest. It is an uninhabited & Wild Barrier Island, It has never been a habitat for man. People visit it, and usually only in summer.

• NEAREST TOWN: Tybee Island

  NEAREST ROAD: US 80
• OBSERVED: I think it was 2nd or 3rd Jan. 1976. I was active duty and stationed at Hunter Army Airfield. one of my Army Buddies and our wives went out to Little Tybee Island on a Camping hunting trip.
• We had a nicely sheltered tent inland about two hundred yards off the beach behind the dunes.
• The first night out was cold. It got into the high teens. The local forcast predicted record lows the next day and night.
• Our wives were cold and wanted to go in. We transported them back to Tybee, and we went back out for an afternoon hunt.
• By 1600 hrs it was too cold to stay out. Our lab was coming out of the water with ice coating her. We returned to camp and had a warm fire going, ate an early supper, and retired early.
• At aproximately 2200 hrs I awaken to our lab growling softly. Jim was awake too.
• He asked me, "Robbie, is your gun loaded?" I assured him it was.
• We then heard a two legged creature walking toward our tent from the rear. I say a two legged creature because Men walk differently from deer.
• At that time there were no deer, or hogs on Little Tybee, Although now there are.
• The creature stopped aproximately 30 to 40 feet from our tent.
• (Our tent was in a small valley, and wouldnt be visible to someone coming from the backside of the Island unil they were upon it.)
• There was a minute or two of complete silence. Even my Lab was extremely quiet, she acted scared for the first time I had ever seen.
• There was then a whooshing sound of something large whirling through the air, it struck out tent with a tremendous whump. The dog went nuts.
• We both unassed the tent with our six volt headlights on and our shotguns at port arms.
• I caught a glimpse of something very dark colored and man sized running towards the backside of the Island. I noticed an odor tha I can only describe as a cross between grey fox and civit cat, in the air.
• We ran after it out to the edge of the open marsh.
• I never got close enough for a positive visual.
• There is nothing on the backside of Little Tybee, except miles on open salt marsh, tidal rivers and creeks,and dozens of smaller hammocks and small islands.
• No man could or would hav exposed himself to that marsh in those temperatures. The marsh itself was frozen hard, but the creeks wern't. Under those conditions a man would perish in minutes if he got wet in salt water.
• We checked the only other boat landing on the island, the creek intrance on the northeastern end of the island. There was no boat or evidence of one being there.
• We walked the entire beach looking for prints, or other boats, and we were the only boat on the beach.
• We discussed the incident awhile and concluded that we just may have had a sasquatch encounter.
• At the time I felt that this was unlikely as all the encounters I had ever heard of was in the Pacific Northwest. Over the years since I have come to realize that the Bigfoot egnima is world wide, in all wild places.
• ALSO NOTICED: The following year we returned on another duck hunt. I had my same lab, and my buddy had one of her nine month old pups. We were giving the pup working knowledge, using her mom. the weather was fortish, wet, miserable, windy.
• We were taking a lunch sleep break during a hard rain. The dogs were left outside to wander the island.
• We were awakenen by the two dogs barking ferociously, the barking ended with a sharp whine.
• Soon the older lab was at the tent begging to be let in. She was trembling in fear. Her pup appeared a minute or two behind her.
• We passed it off as them barking at a passing boat.
• An hour later we were awaken by the pup she was in a grand mal seizure. She died soon after that
• Both my buddie and I are skilled and experienced army medics, I had two tours in Vietnam, He is a PA.
• We carefully examined the dead pup for snakebite, gunshot wounds, or any other visible causes of trauma. We found nothing.
• I have never returned to little Tybee since then. There is something there that the dogs feared, enough to kill one.
• We buried the pup on the island.

• OTHER WITNESSES: My hunting partner. Sleeping.

  OTHER STORIES: No I have not discussed this much with others.
• TIME AND CONDITIONS: 2200hrs. Dark no moon. Calm extremely cold night for S. Ga. temp went to -6 that night. A state record low.
• ENVIRONMENT: Live oaks, stunted by weather, but many over three hundred years old. Bay shrubs, etc. Ocean frontage to eastern side. North and south ends blocked by tidal rivers. Backside tidal marsh to mainland.
• Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Matt Pruitt:
• This case is an intriguing one, due to the remote location of the incident, the unique terrain in which it occurred, and the subfreezing temperatures that the incident took place in.
• The approach of the animal is consistent with other sasquatch reports; in that it stalked the two men's camp in total darkness, it approached from the forest, and it threw a large stick or branch at their canvas tent.
• The hunters were never able to get close enough to the animal to make a strong visual confirmation. They surmised that it was very large and bipedal by the nature of the sounds it made during its retreat.
• The hunters were also able to confirm that there were no other boats at the boat ramps and boat-accessible beaches.
• The behavior and maneuvers that the animal displayed (bipedal locomotion and stick throwing), coupled with its ability to withstand subfreezing temperatures and frozen wetlands, suggests that the creature was indeed a sasquatch.
• Little Tybee Island is considered a pure, uninhabited wildlife haven. There is an abundance of food on the island to sustain a large omnivore.

• OBSERVED: We were driving and observed a hairy animal run across the road. It was on 2 legs and running really fast. It had very long hair on its arms.
• When it crossed the road we stopped and heard whistling in the trees.
• ALSO NOTICED: I have hunted Colorado most of my life. This is about the 4th or 5th time I have info like this. I know of a special canyon where there is a lot of huge tracks they come out of the canyon,and head down..never walking out.

• OTHER WITNESSES: Yes my son

  TIME AND CONDITIONS: 5 am

  ENVIRONMENT: Its was very cold pine forest.
• Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Kevin Burns:
• I spoke to this witness and his son at length on May 1st 2012.
• He is a 25 year veteran of the Colorado Department of Corrections.
• On their way to go hunting, he and his son witnessed a bipedal figure crossing the road from Northwest to Southeast (from right to left) at approximately 5 am, a couple hours before sunrise, as they were driving south across a section of Highway 160 near LaVeta Pass.
• The figure was bent over and moving very fast, with the arms noticeably pumping.
• After crossing the highway the figure ran up a steep embankment and went over a 4 foot barbed wire fence at the top.
• After the sighting they pulled off the road to attempt to determine the identity of the figure.
• As they were walking around shining a flashlight along the crossing path they heard two distinct whistles.
  
• The witness mentioned that this stretch of highway is a common Elk crossing point. It has been noted in many previous reports that Sasquatches hunt not only deer but various ungulates such as Elk.

• Hearing whistling sounds is also common and is often speculated to be a method of communication or alert.

• OBSERVED: I had two different encounters with in a week apart, within a mile of each other.
• I used to take walks in the afternoons when I would get off of work. There was an old logging road that made a loop about 3 miles around in the woods across from my house.
• It was about 3 thirty or so when I set off this day. I always carried a little 22 pistol with me in case I came across any snakes.
• My grandmothers two dogs also always went with me on these walks.
• There was alot of scrub oaks and low growing trees just before it opened up into the swamps.
• I had just cleared the scrub oaks and came into the clearing when I noticed the change. It was like everything in the woods had vanished. The birds stopped singing, I mean it was quiet.
• I broke out in a cold sweet and the hair on the back of my neck stood up like I had just been shot. Like when you know you are being watched. I glanced down at the dogs and both of them had come to a stop like they were frozen in place. The hair on both of them was standing straight up.
• They were looking off to the right of me but neither one of them so much as growled.
• I caught a smell that I really cant describe
• I looked to my right, and about fifty or sixty yards up the hill I could make out the shape of something very big , standing between a couple of oak trees, and some other brush.
• It reached out and grabbed two of the oak trees and started shaking them back and forth.
• Then I heard something like I have never heard before in my life. It didnt sound like an animal growling or a person screaming, but kind of a mix of both.
• The next thing I knew I had reached for my pistol, looked down and both dogs were gone. I decide that it was time for me to leave at that point and made my way very quickly back to the house.
• The next encounter happened about 5 days later on the other side of the main grade. I had just left the house from having lunch and going back to work.
• I was riding a four wheeler at the time and we had a lot of trails cut out through the woods that we rode on.
• I had just come out of the woods and onto a pig trail just up from what we called bathtub springs. The pig trail turns into a main grade about a quarter of a mile from where I came out on it
• I started towards the main grade when I noticed something very large and brown running through the woods about 20 to 25 yards to my left. It kept up with me as I rode about 15 mph
• I saw it sling something in a side ways motion, like throwing a frisbee. I was just about to the main grade when I realized something had hit me in the chest.
• I didn't stop until I got out to the main paved road.
• When I did stop to see what had hit me, I saw that it was a rabbit that had been turned inside out.
• It was several years before I worked up the courage to go back into those woods.
• I have walked up on and been stalked by Florida panthers and wild hogs, but I have never had that feeling of truly being scared until these to encounters.
• ALSO NOTICED: Animal observed in first encounter is estimated to have stood approximately seven and a half feet tall and weighed at least 400 lbs.
• The sound it made was a very loud wailing like scream that lasted for what seemed like 15 seconds.
• OTHER WITNESSES: just myself and the two dogs
• OTHER STORIES: Yes I have, but it is very hard to get people to talk about them.
• ENVIRONMENT: It was pine forest that had scrub oaks growing among them. There are alot of fresh water springs in the area. Peacock State Park is directly across from the secound encounter.
• Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Mick Minnis:
• I spoke with the witness on the phone and he shared the details of both encounters.
• He grew up in this area, and has been hunting and trapping in these particular woods all his life.
• Until he had this first encounter, he believed he knew everything that roamed the woods of north Florida.
• He described to me the sound the animal made in the first encounter as a long, powerful wail.
• Also, he did not feel threatened by the animal but he was quite shook up by the sheer size of it and power it displayed.

  • It is screaming at you and shaking large trees for your benefit and YOU didn't feel "threatened?"...Liar!!
• He was quite adamant that what he saw in both encounters was nothing he had ever seen before.
• 
  I later emailed this witness and asked him to give us more detail regarding the rabbit incident, to help us better understand exactly what occurred while he was on his four-wheeler.
• This is what he submitted:
• I was coming out of the woods and had just got on the pig trail, when I saw something out of the corner of my eye. I was going north and the bigfoot was on my left.
• I didn't have to look back because it was running beside me
• The woods here are really thick with small growth and scrub oaks and with me riding on a four wheeler and it running it was hard to get a clear view of it.
• I was able to make out the color which was a rusty red brownish color.
• It was hunched over I would say running on its hands and feet,
• it was almost like watching a short stop baseball player when it threw the rabbit at me, it just kind of side armed it at me.
• Its hand looked like a gorillas hand is the best way to describe it.
• After I got hit in the chest I really sped up on the four wheeler and did not stop until I reached the hard top road.
• It was at this point that I looked down and saw the wad of fur and meat in my lap. After looking it over I determined it to be a rabbit that had been turned inside out.
• Now the reason that I believe that it was not a human in a suit was because I was on a four-wheeler going anywhere from 10 to 15 mph on the pig trail and it was keeping up even with me and through there it is humanly impossible.
• Now as I said before during both sitings I got the impression that it was more or less warning me off

• Car pulling camper hits something on US 129 South of Live Oak

• LOCATION DETAILS: A major two-lane heading south probably southwest of Live Oak, FL.
• NEAREST TOWN: Live Oak
• OBSERVED: About twelve years ago we were on a very remote and desolate stretch of highway, southeast of Live Oak, Florida, headed south. It was about 1:15 AM.
• There were four of us in an older model Monte Carlo pulling a Coleman travel trailer loaded with cave diving gear, (probably weighing in around eight-hundred pounds gross)
• A Tennessee State Trooper was driving and I was shotgun. The two men in the back were asleep.
• Suddenly, right out of nowhere, (with only our headlights for illumination), a tall, huge “black form” rushed from the right edge of the roadway and came toward us, (in a perpendicular path as if to cross the highway).
• It was so quick that the driver had no reaction time whatsoever!
• While the car missed this erect, but stooped, huge black form the trailer obviously got it. The trailer sounded as if it had exploded and I saw, in the glow of our brake lights, that the entire trailer became airborne and went about as high as the roof of the car!
• “What did we hit?” was the question yelled by the sleepy owner. The other sleepy passenger yelled, “What the hell?” The trooper calmly looked over at me and in an astounded voice asked, “What the hell was that? Did you see that?” I replied quietly, “I saw that and I have no idea what that was!”
• The owner asked from the back seat, “Was it a bear? I’ll bet it was a bear!” The trooper, in total agreement with me replied, “I don’t think so. It was too big!”
• Well, all the while we had been braking to a stop. We all got out, checked out the trailer, checked the passenger side of the car, looked for a corpse, looked for blood, looked for hair, but found nothing at all! The best I remember we even turned around and drove back past the point of impact but saw nothing!
• It will be passed off as a bear, (I am certain), but I do not believe a bear could possibly be that big, move that fast, or suffer that kind of impact without being injured. (Just my opinion)
• I have never thought about this being a bigfoot until a year or so ago and then it all sort of began coming together for me.
• (Whatever it was, it was huge, black, fast and one tough son-of-a-gun!)
• ALSO NOTICED: Just the fact that there was so much energy in the impact to find no corpse, no blood and no hair!

• OTHER WITNESSES: Four, though only two of us saw anything.

  OTHER STORIES: None, sorry.

  TIME AND CONDITIONS: About 1:15 AM. Hot and clear.

  ENVIRONMENT: Woods on both sides of road with very few homes.
• Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Marian Gant:
• NC and three friends were heading south past Live Oak at approximately 1 am and later confirmed with one of the friends that they were on US 129.
• They were in a 1970's era Monte Carlo pulling a Coleman camper filled with diving equipment. NC estimated the equipment weighed between 800 and 1000 lbs.
  
• The road was a two lane highway with wide shoulders. Both sides were forested. There were no dwellings or street lights in the area so it was very dark even though the weather was clear.
  
• NC said the headlights suddenly picked up something huge and black coming at them from the right side of the road.
• It looked to be running on two feet and hunched over "like someone does when they are running full out". It was taller than the car.
• He believes it was already in motion when they saw it. The car passed before it reached them and it ran into the camper behind.
  
• NC said the impact with the camper shifted the car, waking the individuals in the back seat. Through the side mirror, he saw the taillights of the trailer go up off the ground before it crashed down again.
• They immediately stopped and backed up. There was nothing laying on the road or alongside it. They got out to inspect the camper. There was no sign of impact, nothing was dented or broken.
• They did not see blood or hair on the camper or the road.

• Large log tossed into Des Moines River as woman watches eagles from bridge at Frank Gotch State Park

• LOCATION DETAILS: Gotch Park. Please don't put the exact location down. I don't want anyone to hurt him.

• NEAREST TOWN: Humboldt

  NEAREST ROAD: Gotch Park Road
• OBSERVED: I like to go to Gotch Park and watch the Eagles. I used to stand in the middle of the bridge for a cigarette before I went home from work. I had done this a few days in a row.
• That day I got out of my truck and felt like I shouldn't be there. As I walked to the middle of the bridge I felt VERY Uneasy.
• I lit my cigarette and starred out over the river.
• I felt like I was being watched and I started to get scared. It was coming from the other side of the bridge on the right hand side. Whatever it was I knew that it was not human nor an animal and it was a big male.
• I felt like he was curious as to why I went there every day to the same spot and just wanted to watch what I was up to
• I looked around and could not see anything. I built up my courage, looked down and started walking slowly to the other side of the bridge.
• As I started walking I heard a big Crash into the river and saw a huge log floating down, then I heard a low huff. Like someone let out their air threw their nose in frustration with a little noise from the throat.
• The log had dried vegetation on it so I knew it was laying on the forest floor. I don't know how many pounds it was but it was huge. The biggest guy I know wouldn't have been able to throw this thing in the river with little to no effort.
• I looked to where it came from and saw nothing.
• I slowly turned around and walked slowly to my truck. I wanted to run, but I didn't want it to run after me if I ran. I got into my truck and took off. I was scared and shaken. I haven't been out on the bridge by myself ever since.
• ALSO NOTICED: I was out looking at the Eagles and felt something staring at me from the same side of the river a couple of weeks later.
• OTHER WITNESSES: No, no one was there. The park attendent had been gone for weeks.
• OTHER STORIES: My mother used to tell me stories from where she grew up by Ottosen, Iowa.
• TIME AND CONDITIONS: After 7 am when I get off work.
• ENVIRONMENT: Gotch Park Bridge. River runs underneath of it. Wooded, forest area.
• Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Steve Moon:
• I spoke with witness on the phone, and she recounted her experience without missing a beat. It had obviously been a very significant and memorable event.
• Area along bank of east fork of Des Moines River where log was tossed:
  
• Witness added a few important details.
• The log that was thrown into the water landed about 7 feet from shore. The log was about five feet long.
• The area where the log was tossed is wooded with large and small trees, and it would have been easy for an animal to hide or blend in.
• I asked her why she stated that what threw the log was a male even though she didn't see him, the witness stated that she had the strong intuitive feeling that what she was encountering was a male. I asked if she was intuitive about things and she said that she always has been. She also felt strongly that it was curious as to why she was there, that it wanted her to leave, and that it didn't mean her any harm.

  • There is quite obviously a great increase in such sightings across the USA. In a majority of these encounters with Bigfoot and other entities, witnesses state they feel they are unwanted in the area or are being compelled to vacate the area. Many do not go into the woods afterward or are restricted in some way from visiting their favored hunting grounds or camping spots. It is my theory these strange entities are otherwordly and demonic. With the increase in wickedness in America and its loss of morality and faith in God, these entities are manifesting as we near the prophetic end times. These entities obviously stake their claim on areas and territory; pushing off human beings; whom God intended to rule the earth..; not wicked, fallen entities and manifestations. Man is being "subjigated" and driven from the land/earth.
• A week later this witness stopped at the bridge and had the same 'watched' feeling.
• This incident occurred at a major fork in the Des Moines River, near its northern extent.
• Many other possible bigfoot related incidents have been reported near this portion of the Des Moines River Valley.

• Hunter recalls incidents near Pecks Lake

• LOCATION DETAILS: West of Pecks Lake, next to 55 acres of state land on the South West corner of that properety but not on the state land but on private land just south of that border.
• NEAREST TOWN: Evart
• OBSERVED: In 1989 in Osceola county was the firs time we saw it.
• This was in early November. My brother in law shot a deer while bow hunting. We waited until everyone was back in camp before our search for the deer. At that time I could carry a hand gun in the woods. We went out with a coleman lantern for the search.We went back to the tree stand and looked for blood.
  
• We followed the trail and it stopped. We looked all around and then we heard a noise that got our attention.
• I held the lantern high to see farther with no avail. Next we heard foot steps...pacing back and forth, heavy steps that had a lot of weight behind them..deliberate to get our attention..it did.
• We could barely make out the outline it appeared to stand 7 foot or so, could not make out features well.
• We believe that it took the deer and just wanted us to go away.
• Next it made this gutteral sound a warning so it seemed. I never heard anything like it in the woods before...hard to describe. We felt threatened and I took out my hand gun and said if it came into the light I would use the pistol.
• Slowly we back tracked out from the area and back to camp.
• Next morning we looked for the deer and for any prints...nothing.
• In 2004 or 2005 the creature returned one evening way early in the moonlit morning (maybe2:00AM or 3:00 AM) and it was just outside of our cabin looking under a tarp that covered our firewood.
• The noise of the tarp woke us. The Squach was seen outside the window...it put the tarp down and turned and walked behind the pole barn and down the walking path and out of sight.
• ALSO NOTICED: Other than the missing deer not really any thing no prints nothing note worthy.
• OTHER WITNESSES: One witness both times different witness for each sighting. First time we were hunting. The second time were asleep.
• OTHER STORIES: The first time it was reported in the local paper.
• TIME AND CONDITIONS: One hour after dark the first time and around 2:30 AM the next time. The first time it was in the local paper...others seen it too.
• ENVIRONMENT: Oak and hard wood forest, some pine, hilly landscape with Big Stone Creek running close by a closed section with some buildings about the edge of the section. Some small ponds within the section a few grass fields mostly forest.
• Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Jim Sherman:
• Apparently he has tried to tell his story before but no one listened.
• Mr. C. had been hunting with his brother-in-law who shot a deer with his bow. They went back to camp to give the animal time to expire rather than push it further into the woods.
• After dark they took a Coleman lantern and began following the blood trail. The trail abruptly stopped and the pair could find no other signs of the deer.
• They noticed that there were no sounds in the darkness. It was "unusually quiet."
• At this point the two heard "deliberate and heavy" footsteps as a bipedal animal paced back and forth. Mr. C. owns cattle and described the difference, "You can tell they [the cows] are on four feet and are heavy, these footsteps had a similar heft. I could tell it was heavy, not like a deer or other animals I normally see or hear in the woods."
• "...it was sort of intimidating but not a threat or like a charge...it was as if it just didn't want us there and wanted us to go away."
  
• Mr. C's brother-in-law placed the lantern on top of his head so that they could both see off into the distance. A "very large humanoid" figure appeared in the lantern light that Mr. C. described as being 7 - 7.5' tall and weighing at least 500 pounds. The figure was dark in coloration but otherwise it was difficult to discern many other features.
• The figure stepped backwards out of the light and simultaneously let out an "odd guttural sound." The sound ...made the chills go up my shoulders and neck and the hair on my neck and arms stood on end."
• This was the point at which Mr. C. drew his .44 revolver and the pair backed away from the scene.
• Both surmised that the deer was taken by the figure they both witnessed.
  
• I sent Mr. C. sounds that he could use for comparison along with ones on the BFRO website but none were exactly the same as the vocalization he heard.
  
• On the second occasion in 2004 or 2005 a sighting occurred around 2 am in the same area. This time it was also early in November and Mr. C. and his hunting partner were asleep in their cabin.
• The hunting partner was awakened by the sound of something outside rustling a tarpaulin that covered the wood for the stove on their deck. He looked out the window and was just able to see a large creature retreating into a cleared path that led to their deer blinds.
• Mr. C. was unable to see the creature but noticed that his partner went to bed with a large hunting knife that night and he refuses to go into the woods to hunt or scout unless armed.

• OBSERVED: I was working as a Military Police law enforcement command soldier at Fort Lewis, Washington from November 1985 to December 1986.
• My barracks were on North Fort Lewis. We commonly drove from the main post provost marshal office via the Pendleton Road route into north fort.
• In the early fall of 1986, I was travelling this route as I had many times before in the company of my partner and friend, also an M.P., who is from Oregon. We had often spoken and joked about various legends we had heard about Sasquatch inhabiting or existing in the Pacific Northwest, and being from Ohio, I was a thorough non-believer.
• We were travelling northwest along Flora Rd on north Fort Lewis between the Fort Lewis Museum and 41st Division Drive, approximately ¾ mile from San Francisco Ave, at twilight,
• when we observed a large fur covered animal cross the road from left (w) to right (e) in approximately four (4 ) steps. It was walking upright, had a long lumbering gait, long arms, a large head, and walked mildly stooped at the shoulders, and appeared to be at least 8 feet tall.
• We stopped the truck and flipped on the bright headlights. Initially thinking it was a bear, I slowly rolled closer, excited about seeing my first wild bear on post. We were approximately 50 to 80 yards away, at the time.
• The animal stopped on the right side of the roadway at the edge of the trees, turned and looked towards us, and with one step, disappeared into the trees.
• My partner and I stopped in the roadway, and got out of the truck. We saw where the pine limbs were still shaking where they had been parted by the animal, as it moved through. We could hear it walking ahead of us by about 30 or so yards, and then the walking noise stopped.
• My friend was about 5 yards ahead of me, and we had gone about 30 yards into the woods, when a large limb cracked in a tree just ahead of us and there was a scream unlike anything I had ever heard. My friend turned towards me and began sprinting back towards the road, past me, yelling “run”, with his eyes wide open. I turned, running, to follow him and whatever the animal was, was now behind us, wailing what resembled a scream.
• We got back to the truck and we both noted that the other was “white as a ghost”.
• The next day, after calming down considerably, we went back to the spot and found several high tree limbs bent and broken by something very large and very tall. The ground had a covering of both fresh green and brown pine needles, but no evidence of footprints
• Many of our friends laughed at us when we told them, but several later admitted that they had seen something similar crossing the roads during late evening patrols around Ft Lewis, especially in the more remote training areas and roads, and near Solo Point at Puget Sound or near Sequalitchew Lake on North Fort Lewis. I will never forget that day!
• OTHER WITNESSES: We were both riding in my truck. Two of us.
• TIME AND CONDITIONS: It would've been apporoxmately 30-45 minutes before sundown. It was medium light (twilight),with long shadows and objects in the road were easily visible without aid of headlights. There were large pine trees on both sides of the road and the forest was mildly dense next to the road. It was dry and warm at the time this occurred.
• Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Scott Taylor:
• I interviewed this witness over the phone. He no longer lives in this area. Since the sighting was in 1986, and this area is not accessible to civilians, there is no need to do an on-site investigation.
• However, the site can be viewed quite well using Google Earth.
• What we have learned from the many sightings around the area is that sasquatches are comfortable very near inhabited areas.
• Reports of sightings around and on what is now called Joint Base Lewis-McChord are still commonplace.
• The witness described very clearly what they encountered that day in 1986. From interviewing him, there are a few more details.
  
• Additional details. The next day they went back to the site to see what evidence they could find. He said that there were no tracks, but he did find large impressions in the forest duff.
• He said that the creature actually chased them out of the woods.
  
• I asked him about details of the creature. He said that the hair was several inches long, shaggy and matted (texture similar to a mountain goats hair). The color was dark brown, but that there were patches of lighter colored hair.
• The head looked gorilla like, but larger. The brow was more prominent than a gorilla’s and the top of the head showed a sagittal crest.
• The creature moved with a natural, unhurried gait, slightly hunched forward.

• LOCATION DETAILS: First encounter was at a rented cabin. The second encounter was at my fathers house which he has since sold. My mother still lives next door.

• OBSERVED: I have three encounters with what I believe to be Bigfoot or an unknown crpytid.
• 2008-
  In late fall I accompanied my wife, daughter, and my mother to stay in a rental cabin near island lake, situated near the manistee national forest in northern lower michigan.
• As an avid mountain biker I brought along my bike and had planned several rides.
• After roughly 1.5 miles of riding (I marked a way point on my GPS before entering the woods so I could easily find my way back) I noticed my front tire was very low on air.
• I set my bike against a pine stump and began to repair my front tire.
• To my right roughly 50-60 yards was a partially destroyed and burnt old RV. Seconds after glancing at it, a very loud thump came from within the camper.
• All I can describe it is as a "head" appeared in a broken window, which had to be over six feet from the base of the camper.
• From my distance all I could see was jet black fur and no noticeable ears, the eyes were not noticeable or black as well.
• It cocked its head to the right slightly as I mounted my mountain bike.
• Whatever it was I saw I believe followed me back to my cabin, as very foul and pungent odor lingered outside the next morning.
  
• 2009
  For a short time while finishing my bachelors degree my wife and daughter lived with my dad. His house was at the end of a very long drive which backed up to hundreds of acres of woods and a large state recreation area called Waterloo in southern lower Michigan.
• December 3 I arrived home from school about 7pm. Shortly thereafter (I lived in an apartment in the basement) I hear a knock on the sliding glass door.
• It was my mother who looked very disturbed and frightened, and says she has been hearing howls all evening.
• I assumed coyotes as they were very abundant there. She was unshakeable in her opinion that it was not a coyote.
• I stepped outside onto the patio and shut off the exterior light. What I did notice immediately was a very strong odor being whirled around in the wind.
• I waited nearly 5 minutes and then I heard it, it was very near the tree line. Howling like I never have heard from a coyote, deep penetrating bass notes that sounded ragged and throaty.
• It was very windy and beginning to snow, and the howls seemed to occur in different locations.
• Due to the snow falling overnight no tracks or signs were observed.
• ALSO NOTICED: Strong pungent odors in both encounters.
• OTHER WITNESSES: I was alone in the first encounter. My mother was a witness in the second.
• TIME AND CONDITIONS: First encounter occoured late evening cloudy and windy cool. Second encounter was night, windy and snowy.
• ENVIRONMENT: Woods, thick forest.

• The land area near this report in the southeast corner of Grand Traverse County is literally surrounded by National, State and other public land.
• The Pere Marquette State Forest, the Manistee National Forest and the Pere Marquette River make this a prime area for animals and game of all kinds as well as a place for camping, hiking the North Country Scenic Trail, hunting and fishing.
• I have been in the middle of the deep woods and have had a mechanical issue before, but to have this occur and see something that is not supposed to be there was something that I had to try to understand.
• Mr. H wrote down his recollection of the incidents so that it would be easier to piece together. After I received his letter I called him again to ask a few follow-up questions regarding the actual location of the incident and the distances involved during his encounter.
• The following is his letter to me reproduced as he wrote it.
• Areas designated with "( )" were changed by me to reflect new information or the will of the witness.
• - The weather for the incident was 60-65 degrees, cloudy with a brisk wind, the time was 6pm with good lighting.
• I was riding through a rooty rocky single track that went uphill and turned into a sandy hill, which is where I came to the "opening" in the woods
• I actually smelled the smell before I stopped to put a new tube in my front tire.
• The "sound" that came from the trailer was an unmistakable boom, followed by hollow knocking.
• At this point I was nearly done repairing my tire, it was not until I glanced up again and saw the head.
• (The "head" was positioned behind/outside what would have been the far side of the trailer if it had been intact i.e. the witness was looking past a wall that was burned away into the inside of the trailer looking out the far window).
• More about the "head"
• As I explained before, the window in this trailer was roughly 6 feet from the ground, the head was large and from my distance appeared round.
• It was, from my distance very hard to pick out details, but one thing that I will never forget is how the wind almost made the "fur" flow slightly around the face as if it was very long.
• As I began to mount my bike again, this is when it tilted its head to the right very slowly, this is also when I saw very slight definition in what I believe was "longer" hair.
• (The head tilt was later described to me as being almost a question or a form or recognition that this creature saw something interesting as well).
• More about the "smell"
• Having worked for the ( ) and being in nature for many years I can say this smell was unique and I have only smelled it once more near my mother's house after the howls I heard near Waterloo Rec area. I can only describe it as a wet dog that just emerged from the swamp mixed with skunk.
• The smell wasn't overpowering but very "there".
• As far as my experience at my mother's house near Waterloo, I have not heard any more vocalizations, but have smelled very pungent odors on several other locations
• Mr. H and I discussed the fact that he believed that in the morning after his biking incident he could still detect the smell near his cabin even though this was miles away from his sighting. This led him to believe that whatever it was in the woods the previous day had followed him home that night. He looked around for any sign and was unable to see anything. This was the most unnerving part of the entire incident.

• OBSERVED: On January 6, 2012 at 11:30PM I took our dog out to do his business before going to bed.
• We live on a high bank over looking a river. The other side of the river is heavily wooded lowlands.
• As our dog was doing his business, we heard what almost sounded like a gorilla grunt, approximately 75 feet from me on the edge of the river on the other side.
• About 45 seconds later we heard another and my dog literally dragged me to the house. Up on the deck we could hear something very large crunching through the branches on the other side of the river keeping pace with us. I walked back to the other end of the deck to see if it would change direction and follow me back and it did.
• All of a sudden we heard a loud crack like a large branch was broken, followed by a large splash. I heard it take about 3 steps in the water, then climb back out of the water onto the bank and it through a rock across the river.
• I could hear the water dripping from his fur, once again my dog freaked out and dragged me back to the door of the house. I heard what sounded like a shaggy dog shaking the water off, followed by a really strange snort
• It was too dark to see across the river, but whatever fell in the river was very large (too big to be any dog) and bears are currently in hibernation.
• The next morning I looked across to the other side of the river where all the activity was and there is an old rotten tree stump that was split in half to the ground with the broken half laying right at the edge of the river. It wasn't broken the day before.
• ALSO NOTICED: We suspected we had squatch activity here for many years, but after watching your new tv show “Finding Bigfoot” we started making squatch calls, getting very surprising results: stone throwing, tree knocks as well as some grunts and howls and other unusual activity.
• The stone throwing got so bad, we quit doing squatch calls.
• OTHER WITNESSES: Myself and my dog. I was watching tv.
• OTHER STORIES: There have been other encounters dating back to 1978 by myself, wife and a few other reports close by on your website. All of the encounters have been within 5 miles of this encounter.
• TIME AND CONDITIONS: 11:30PM
  
  Dark night, no wind or weather, temperature in the upper 20s
• ENVIRONMENT: On the edge of a river, heavily wooded low bank side.
• Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Jim Sherman:
• Mr. O contacted me via email because of reports I have filed previously in areas near his encounters. We have had multiple lengthy discussions regarding what he has seen and heard and I found that the more we talked the more I learned about just how much has been going on and for quite an extended amount of time.
• Initially I was under the impression that this case involved primarily one instance of a vocalization as well as activity near the river and then of a rock being thrown. If this were the case it would still be an interesting case but this activity has been going on for nineteen years.
• The report that began this investigation involved an incident whereby Mr. O was out with his Australian Shepherd Lab mix.
• The second vocalization made the dog rush back to the house.
• What he noticed was that about 75 yards away yet out of sight near the river, something was pacing across the forest floor. He knew it was bipedal "...by the sounds of the heavy footsteps."
• "It was watching me and following my movement along the deck, when I turned it also turned around and followed me back, that is when I heard a splash and then a 'grunt' and it threw a rock."
• Mr. O began attempting to communicate with his unseen visitor and started making howls like those found on the Finding Bigfoot show on Animal Planet. Occasionally they would "...get a tree knock or a howl from the river."
• He put a stop to this because it began throwing rocks at his home during the night and his wife began to hear vocalizations and a smell "...like rotten eggs and sulfur" began to appear with too much frequency.
• Mr. O had to collect the rocks to keep them from breaking his windows when he mowed the lawn. He even tried to throw them across the river. Even though he was standing fifty feet or so above the river he found it difficult to consistently make that throw. Whatever was down there was throwing uphill.
• The following is reproduced as written in a letter to me by Mr. O:
• "I mentioned that the back of my house has a lot of glass. My wife says we are squatches' personal human aquarium.
• Anyhow, on the 4th of July evening around 11:30PM, I took the dog out as usual. The dog was acting strange and wanted to go in. I could smell that rotten eggs/sulfur smell, but I couldn't see or hear anything, so we went in the house.
• Before going to bed, I always make sure that 2 of my windows are closed, because they sit only 2 feet above the deck and we have a major coon problem. I went to close the one in the dining room that faces out to the river.
• 1 of our cats(indoor only) was sitting in the window, so I picked her up, when I did, I noticed she was looking at something, so I looked up and I saw it in the dark standing at the corner of my deck, about 15 feet from me.
• It immediately turned to his right and took 2 giant leaps to the edge of the river, crashing through the brush and took off to the east, about 50 feet down river he crossed the river.
• It was so dark, I couldn't tell if it was black or dark brown fur.
• Our dog will bark often as if someone is outside, we will check , but see nothing, but will occasionally smell that familiar smell.
• The rock throwing convinced us to stop. We have approximately 420 square feet of windows on the back of the house. Only a couple of the rocks ever hit the house and luckily no windows, several have hit the back of our garage though.
• Mr. O is currently trying to collect more evidence but the area has been fairly quiet this winter.
• He did mention that there was a distinct lack of deer behind his house this season and surmised that this might be why he has not seen any recent activity.

• OBSERVED: On February 21, 2012 at aprox 2:55pm while traveling on a back county heavily wooded road in Ocala Florida, I observed an animal coming out of the woods on the South side of the road heading North. From this distance I first thought this was a bear coming across the road, however I did notice that the way this animal carried himself did not appear to be a bear.
• The animal was walking on all fours but appeared to be larger in the front of his body but lower in the hind end, much unlike a bear. He seemed to be bobbing up and down and seemed to me that it was injured.
• As I approached closer I could see that he was walking on the knuckles of his front arms, appearance was dark brown shaggy coat, not like smooth sheen coat or fur that would be on a Florida black bear.
• As the animal approached the edge of pavement, he then stood up on it's hind legs with a slight curvature and legs bent, he then crossed the road on its hind legs arms swaying or swinging
• as I approach closer to the animal and start to slow my vehicle down, this animal turned its head and glanced partially, (matter of factly). At this point I could tell there were no ears such that a bear would have and knew it definitely was not a Florida black. The upper body was massive and as it went down to the hind quarters got increasing smaller
• I would estimate that this animal would be 7ft aprox. weight would be around 400 lbs (my best guess).I could not tell what the hind feet looked like due to the amount of hair but I did note that they were longer than that of a bear.
• As he neared the edge of opposite side of the road he then returned to walk on all fours and as he entered the edge of the wooded area he stood upright again
• placing right arm on a pine tree, looked over at me and at this i was at a stand still in my vehicle, I could see a full face.
• I could tell that he had more of a round shaped eyes, from this distance they appeared to be dark in color with a lighter color of hair around eyes (short and greyish brown, older in appearance) same hair color would be around the side of face and what would be the area where the ears would be.
• The nose appeared to be shorter than that of a bear but different than an ape,
• didn't have a larger lower lip or chin. the area where the mouth and nose is was short hair and skin appearance
• I could also see that the long hair on the arms did not go all the way to the hand area.
• OTHER STORIES: no, there was an incident out in the Ocala National Forest area

• The witness is now a retired deputy/wildlife officer that has worked with and is VERY familiar with bear and primates.
• He looked at his watch when he first saw the animal and noted the time, as he thought it was unusual to see a bear out in the open this early in the afternoon.
• He did not see the teeth, the animal had no muzzle, more of a face with no cone shaped head.
• He said it was built like an athlete.
• Witness said the animal looked groomed.
• The hair on top and on the side of its face looked as if it was wet and had pushed it all back with its hands.
• Upon investigation, it was noted that the animal had approached and exited the road via a game trail.

• Headless Valley is a specific region (Lat: 61.25 Long: -124.5) of the South Nahanni River valley (Canada) said to encompass a lost world complete with tropical forests, murderously savage natives, and a myriad of mysterious creatures ranging from 'Bear Dogs' to Sasquatch.
• The legend of Headless Valley is unusual in that it is fairly modern, having originated in 1908, following the discovery of two decapitated miners in the region of the South Nahanni River.
• Since that time, several other disappearances and murders have been documented in the region.
• In the Nahanni National Park of Northwest Canada lies the Nahanni River. The area is only accessible by boat or plane and is home to many natural wonders, such as sinkholes, geysers and a waterfall almost double the size of Niagara Falls.
• Lord Tweeds Muir (John Buchan), author of The 39 Steps once said of the valley: “It’s a fancy place that old-timers dream about. … Some said the “valley was full of gold and some said it was hot as hell owing to the warm springs. … It had a wicked name too, for at least a dozen folks went in and never came out’ … Indians said it was the home of devils.”
• The 200 Mile gorge has become infamous, due to a number of gruesome deaths and many disappearances, earning itself the eerie name, The Valley of the Headless Men.
• Anomalies first began in 1908, when the Macleod Brothers came prospecting for gold in the valley. Nothing was heard or seen of the brothers for a whole year, until their decapitated bodies were found near a river.
• Nine years later, the Swiss prospector Martin Jorgenson was next to succumb to the Valley, when his headless corpse was found.
• In 1945, a miner from Ontario was found in his sleeping bag with his head cut from his shoulders.
• While skeptics of an unknown power at work in the Valley would put the grizzly mutilations down to feuding gold prospectors or hostile Indians, there are other strange happenings in the area which add to the valleys mysteriousness.
• The fiercely renowned Naha tribe simply vanished from the area a few years prior to the first deaths.
• Other Indians of the area have avoided the Valley for centuries, claiming an unknown evil haunts it.
• Many parts of the valley remain unexplored, and there are tales the Valley holds an entrance to the Hollow Earth.
• Others believe the Valley is home to a lost world, with lush greenery and a tropical climate, due to the hot springs generating warm air, as well as untapped goldmines and wandering sasquatches.
• While a haven for Bigfoot remains unlikely, one thing is for certain, something strange lurks in the Nahanni Valley.
• Bear-Dogs and Waheela
• Bear-dogs were related to both the bear family and the dog family. They looked like hybrids between bears and dogs.
• There were once many different species in the family of bear-dogs, but then they began to die out.
• The most recent fossils we have from the New World date to about two million years ago, and in the old world the most recent are about ten thousand years old.
• There is some evidence that the bear-dogs might have survived much longer than this in some remote areas.
• One species might even be alive today, if you can believe certain legends and sightings that have come from some remote, icy valleys on the border between Canada and Alaska.
• The waheela is the name of a gigantic wolf-like beast that has inhabited Indian legends from this area for a very long time. It is described as being like a wolf, but much larger and with a heavier build.
• It is attributed with supernatural powers, and it is said to be responsible for the many mysterious deaths that have occurred in Nahanni Valley, also known as "Headless Valley" because the people who died here mysteriously all had missing heads.
• If the only thing we had to go on was these legends, we might be able to ignore the waheela, but there are also perfectly ordinary sightings made by ordinary Americans.
• A mechanic described this animal as looking like a wolf on steroids. He estimated its height at three and a half feet at the shoulder. The largest wolves ever recorded have been three feet, two inches tall at the shoulder, but giants of this size are truly rare.
• If the mechanic's estimate was correct, then this animal was at least four inches taller than the biggest wolf we know of.
• Other details differed from a true wolf. Its head was too broad for that of a wolf, and its build was too heavy, almost bear-like. It had pure white fur that was exceptionally long.
• Other reports agree with the general description above, but add more detail.
• The waheela, despite the fact that it is larger than a wolf, has shorter legs than a wolf. The impressive shoulder height comes from its massive body instead of its legs.
• Its ears are smaller than a wolf's ears, and the tracks show toes set farther away from each other than in a wolf's tracks.
• The waheela are never found in packs, and they stay in the coldest, most inhospitable environments of the extreme north, favoring areas where there are few people.
• The area where the waheela is sighted is one of the most remote places in the world. The fact that these lands are relatively unexplored means that there is a fair chance of discovering new kinds of animal there, perhaps including one that was supposed to have died out ten thousand years ago.
• On the other hand, this might just be another one of those legend-laden locales that doesn't pan out when it is fully investigated.
• Local tribes also report that the Nahanni Valley is infested with evil spirits, and certain other legends attribute the headless corpses to big hairy monsters resembling the sasquatch.
• With bipedal hairy humanoids and monstrous wolves being sighted in the same area and blamed for the same violent deaths, it might also be that we have werewolf beliefs being thrown into the mix as well, to make things even more confusing.

• We decide to get out and we are standing in front of the jeep talking quietly, and my wife says she wants to sit in the jeep so i ask her why and she says she dont feel good about standing there, i had also noticed that uneasy feeling and agreed.
• I found the keys and started to start the jeep when i looked at my wife who was staring at the small gassy flat.
• I turned the key and a big fast black hairy object made me turn my head to the left, and i saw it run very fast into the thick oak trees.
• It looked about 6 feet tall hunched over, but it covered alot of ground fast. I saw it for only a few seconds.
• I looked at my wife, she sat frozen and i knew what i saw ( i thought it was a bigfoot) so i asked my wife if it was a bear she said no so i asked if it was a moose she said no so i asked if it was a black cow and she said it was a hairy bigfoot.
• She said she had watched it the whole time after i let her in the jeep and got in myself till i started the jeep, and she said it was a bigfoot.
• I hightailed it out of there and returned at dark with hunting equipment to track it, but only found where it went through the oak, the leaves were deep and the bank was torn up. i have been a avid hunter my whole life it was not any animal known to me, i know it was not a bear moose, elk ,cow,or anything i have ever seen.
• ALSO NOTICED: before the sighting we were standing in front of the jeep looking at the leaves in coveredbrige canyon,i felt uneasy like something was watching me and i was right, when i saw it.
• OTHER WITNESSES: yes my wife was stareing into its eyes as it was hunkered down in the flat.

• OTHER STORIES: no

  TIME AND CONDITIONS: Just 1 hour before dark , the light was very bright.
• ENVIRONMENT: montanious flat with oak trees surrounding the flat terraced like flats with oaktree borders.
• Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Chad Hamblin:
• The submitter of the report said that his wife has no idea how long she stared at the creature, but that it seemed like it was quite a few minutes.
• He said that it was squatting and then ran. He said that even when it ran it was squatted down, making it appear only three or four feet high, though he could tell it was actually taller than that.
• He estimated it to be anywhere from five to eight feet tall.
• The submitter also said that the creature had Blackish-brown hair about six inches long, but added that for him the thing looked like a quick black blur.
• He said he's a hunter and has seen elk and other animals, and that this was faster than anything else he's ever seen.
• He said there's a thick grove of oak there and that above them was another flat, with yet another flat above that.
• He said the creature ran up the mountain – headed for the oaks.
• After talking to the submitter of the report I was also able to talk to his wife.
• She talked about being too freaked-out to move or say anything. She said the creature had a total human shape, but covered with hair, and she said it looked more human than the bigfoots she's seen on TV – with the ones on TV looking more ape-like. She added that it was bigger than a man.
• The creature was a big dark spot in the fall colors.
• The witness said she will not forget the experience. To me it seemed like she's really conflicted about the experience - not wanting to believe she saw what she saw, but that having no choice because she definitely saw it, and actually stared at it for quite some time.
• Some of the physical characteristics reported by the witness are as follows: it had straight, dark brown hair all over the body, including on the ears, but shorter on the face than elsewhere. The nose was barely visible because of the hair. It had dark lips and you couldn't see the teeth.
• The head was shaped more like a human head than a gorilla's head.
• No neck was visible because of the long facial hair.
• When it moved it looked like it was hunched over, trying to run but stay hidden.
• It's legs looked different than a bear's legs, with what appeared to be feet rather than paws.
• The witness evidently did a sketch of what she saw but no longer knows where the sketch is.

• Missouri “Gorilla” Killed Livestock, 1947

• Times were rough and ready in Midwestern America, as recently as 65 years ago.
• A gorilla-like creature was being seen in the unfortunately called “Nigger Wool Swamp” in southeast Missouri.
• It was killing cows and horses.
• Someone then shot the beast. This supposedly happened in the late 1940s.
• I collected this story from the Indiana University folklore archives, and shared the information with John A. Keel, which he used in his book Strange Creatures From Time and Space.
• A similar report that may be an overlapping retelling of the above incidents occurred at Piney Ridge, Missouri.
• Glen Payne of Sedalia heard from his cousin Martin Burford that several coon hunters reported what we would today call a “Bigfoot.”
• They said it was killing sheep and goats.
• He was able to see in lights a giant hairy man-shaped thing running ahead of his dogs.
• In October 1947, Payne hunted it.
• But it killed his hog dogs, and then overturned his jeep.
• ohn Green mentioned this case in Sasquatch: The Apes Among Us, which he found through a Tim Olson news item.
• You could say these 1940s cases are early versions of Momo, the Missouri Monster.
• I could never make headway on getting more details on the Missouri stories from the 1940s. But I tried hard.
• Little did I realize that evidence of this still exists. It is rather funny what you can find online.
• In the 1960s, if I couldn’t travel to locations I was investigating, I would send out letters.
• Over the weekend, I ran across an old copy of one of my letters that was saved by someone who worked at a state park in Arkansas and published online.
• BTW, in November 1969, I would have been 22 years old.  I was living in Carbondale, Illinois, because I was in the anthropology department at Southern Illinois University.

  Crowley’s Ridge State Park
   Walcott, Arkansas
   Dear Sirs:
• Would you please send me data on your park? Also, I would like some specific information if you have it. Although I realize the Park was only established in 1934, perhaps you have had cases similar to the following, regarding which you could supply me with further details.
• It appears that in the years between 1834 and 1851 reports of a “Wild Man” being sighted in St. Francis, Greene and Poinsett Counties were reported in the press. A Memphis Enquirer article on the “Wild Man” was reprinted in the Galveston Weekly Journal (May 26, 1851) and the New Orleans Times Picayune (May 6, 1851). As you know these Counties are bound on the East by Crowley’s Ridge. I have a case from the Folklore Archives of Indiana University in which a similar “Gorilla” report is told of in the Great Swampy Area that existed in the “Boot-Heel” section of the of Southeast Missouri over fifty years ago. This swamp was bound on the West by Crowley’s Ridge. Therefore, I feel Crowley’s Ridge may be the seat of a great deal of lore (if not truth!) on this subject.

• I would appreciate any and all data you could send me on any reports, strange animal sightings, etc. from your area. If you would like more information from me, I will be glad to supply you with the 1851 newspaper article, or any other pieces I have on these “hairy beasts.”
