• The smell of fear..
• but let's not forget that another theory used to explain the extreme fear reaction people have during bigfoot encounters
• We've been talking about infrasound (and I'll have more to say about that later),
• is that the creature releases certain pheromones that act upon us to create fear.
• I just found an article that discusses our own (US) defense department's attempt to discover a "fear hormone" to use against human beings.
• Possibly, bigfoot has already found this by way of natural selection.
• Here's the "money graph":
• Pheromones are effective in minute quantities, so a wide area can be blanketed with just a few liters. Given sufficient concentration, would everyone exposed start suffering from an unidentifiable dread? The contagious aspect means that those affected would start churning out fear pheromone as well.
• On its own, the alarm pheromone probably would not do much. But given an external trigger, such as a loud noise, it could influence people to start stampeding like spooked cattle.
• Given we already know that bigfoot will deliberately make some big sounds when humans are nearby, ie, branch snaps, yells, screams, or do things that are frightening enough in themselves,
• could these behaviors be part of a strategy to cause inordinate fear?
• though they turn out to be harmless, like throwing rocks or shaking trees,
• With the help of either infrasound, or pheromones, or both, adding in the noise or other frightening stimulus might be enough to send us all out of the woods in a hurry.

• Bigfoot encounter or someone messing with me?
• Alright guys I know everyones going to start fussing over whether or not bigfoot is real, but this actually happened to me.
• It happened back in august it was about 10:00 o'clock, my mon and dad were in the living room watching tv, so was my younger brother,
• We live in pretty rural area of forsyth county,nc. The only house around my yard is my neighbor don, 40 or so years old. Hes not going to mess with me.
• Anyway, I was watching tv in my room, which faces towards about 50-60 acres of woods.
• My dog charlie starting barking I opened my window to listen for something and I heard Bi-pedal footsteps, crunch, crunch.
• It stopped and an apple came flying out of the woods at my dads car which was parked in betwen the shed and our house. It hit the car so hard it busted into pieces!
• A few seckonds later a pear did the same thing it the car and busted into peices. Then it started walking again very slowly on 2 legs for sure.
• It stopped for a minute and whistled very loudly like a person would. And way back off into the woods I could hear a faint whistle back.
• After they were done talking to each other it started walking a little faster and then began to run very fast. I listened until I couldnt hear running anymore.
• Verry creapy night, on top of that the next day we whent out into the woods (me and my brother) to check things out.
• We were walking beside a creek that fed into a cow pasture, and in the sand beside the creek was a 16" footprint. It looked like a guy with a huge foot whent walking around the creek and the sand. The shoe sizefor the thing that made this track is at least a size 20.
• On another occasion a couple days later me, my brother and my buddy whent into the woods. We hiked for probabley and hour in a half. Until we came out to a small feild facing a mobile home.
• As we sit and rested in the sun something growled at us about 50 yards down the hill.
• A minute later A log about 2 feet long and 4 inches wide came flying at us. And anothe small stick did the same.
• We ran out of there fast. Theres some really wierd stuff out there. So you tell me what you think was doing all this.

• And saw a large shape at least 10 ft. tall cross a fence,the barbed wire creeked as it crossed
• I have seen and heard strange things at night while fishing in Oklahoma on the creek
• I reeled my poles in and went to the car,before I got there huge rocks were landing around me and I went home
• next day went back and my trout line was laying on the bank there was no fish or bait on the hooks.
• It was on private property and only my tire tracks went in or out
• the shape I saw the night was walking on two legs
• but it was walking away from me and I wanted to keep it that way.

• i was bear hunting in mcdowell county in west nc one night. we had been using little debbie snack cakes to bait them.
• all of a sudden, i heard foot steps right behind me. like a lagre person walking on two feet and not a bear walking on four.
• i shined my 3-d cell maglite and saw something like a 10 foot figure glance at me and run away towards the creek.
• i ran away cause all i had with me was my maglite and a gerber pocket knife with the belt clip.
• the next day i came back and found all the oatmeal creme pies had been unwrapped and eaten.
• that was reaaly wierd and freaked me out 'cause bears will eat wrapper and all. it was then i realized i had an bigfoot encounter.

• I dont know for sure if they do exist, but I knwo there are to many accounts of people spotting something that fits the same description
• and it has been proven that there use to be Apes in North america, there fossil remains have been found and there were bi-pedol apes that stood from 8-10 feet I believe.

• I arrived at my hunting camp at aprox midnight in the hills of SE OH and to my surprise the whole camp was up and about and shining lights up the hill.
• Ok..Bigfoot stories..hers mine..
• The campground lies at a dead end which is surrounded on 3 sides by large wooded hills.
• Anyways...my first thought was that someone was coon hunting close by or something.
• So I pull up and get out and people were walking back and forth and shining lights around and being generally all worked up over something.
• Upon talking to the people there, some who I had met before, some not, (different groups...everyone was not together), they said that something large was running back and forth up on top of the hill, staying just out of the lights range,
• Now some of these boys were locals that know every mushroom, ginseng spot,hunting spot in these woods..and even they were a little rattled.
• and making a screaming sound that none of them had ever heard.
• The hill would be a bit hard to navigate in the dark, so after awhile..everyone retreated to there tents/campers and went to sleep.
• At dawn, I'm talking still dark...I hiked up to where they said the noise was coming from..by then it was light enough to see.
• I was amazed at the path of destruction I saw..the ground was all tore up and there were trees that no person could possibly break that were snapped in half. I'm talking about 2" healthy trees..just snapped in half.
• So now I'm forgetting all about going bow hunting and trying to play detective. I'm scouring the ground for any type of sign or tracks, but couldn't find anything distinguishable.
• I spent about 2 hours there, eventually joined by five other people from camp. Nobody could come up with a plausible excuse for what happened.
• Anyways.....thats it....thats my (almost Bigfoot) story. (true).

• I too believe that big foot is real, way to many weird things have happened while in the woods. Strange sounds and sights out in the woods.

• Years ago, I was hunting with a friend in Ocala National Forest...
• We drove the jeep to a spot, walked to a double stand about 100 yards away, climbed up and got in the Stand and was waiting for a deer. The stand was about 25 ft up, so we had a great view of everything and a Nearby Pond.
• It was starting to get Dark , had about 30 minutes left to hunt, when this Huge, dark thing came around some trees along the edge of the pond, and walked right towards us...
• we both froze, it was a Bigfoot and it walked right underneath our stand and towards where the jeep was parked.
• After a minute it had disappeared, My Buddy said " Did you see that ?" and I said Yup did you?
• We looked at each other and realized we were Both white as ghosts..HOLY CRAP...we decided to wait as long as we could, jumped down and Run to the jeep, and get the heck out of there...
• We know what we saw was walking upright and over 10 ft tall with huge feet, and it was all Hairy , even more than any animal I have ever seen.
• I still get the Heebee Geebees from thinking about it.

• It is a controversial and unproven topic but some people believe time is curved and very rarely some things for some reason can move in and out of it. This accounts for the lack of other physical evidence.

• I grew up in Florida and use to spend alot of time outside as far from the tourist traps as possible! I use to offroad bicycle through Ocala NF on the trails in the late 80s. There is more than enough remote uninhabited areas to hide something like Bigfoot.
• We live very close to the Chequemeqon National Forest and vast amounts of undeveloped private land too.
• My family and I moved here a few years back.
• The place we bought was vacant for 2 years and had alot of animal trails crossing it to the neighbors pond, the only pond for a couple of miles.
• Well one night the family was here getting things ready, I was not.
• One family member saw a very large bi-ped walking in a clearing toward the pond.
• Once I got back up here I walked the path it walked. It walked the animal trail pretty well too and the family member did not know the trail was there.
• We came up with a height of roughly 7-8 feet tall. That person will still not go outside at night without someone.
• A couple months later I was outside trying to get a cell signal in the one spot in the driveway. Talking pacing back and forth in the small spot.
• I looked into the backyard and I think made eye contact with something. I got roared, yelled at.
• It was not a bear or wolf. All I can say it was big, had bass and the source was way above ground level.
• I did not get a look at it because the way the flood lights blinded me. I hauled a#% for the house.
• Next morning checked around there, No footprints but something big matted the grass down. I still do not know what it was to this day.
• After all that I have I started digging around on the net and I found a report of a BF call 10 miles north of here.
• I have credable friends/hunters that sighted a BF. Most of them are daring guys. Most say they freeze and s^%$ themselves silly or haul a$# Even though they are armed
• I guess it is the fact you are amazed at what you are seeing and goes against all known animals.

• I have not seen one but As there is evidence that their use to be giant apes in north america and there have been SO MANY sightings of "Bigfoot" or "Sasquach" and "Swamp beast"
• Supposeble there was one sighted about 20 mins away from my house a few weeks ago.

• In many tribes, Sasquatch is not a physical being but a demon spirit who is only seen when those who have witnessed it have strayed from their path in life and they view this omen as a warning to “straighten up”. If this is indeed the case, then we may never find physical proof of its existence.

• Big Feets have been sighted south of where I live by by credable people.
• I'll make a confession to all of you...I'm very concerned about haveing an encounter with one, to the point it's keeping me from going hunting.
• My Step Father has seen the distruction they can do looking for food in rotted logs though they eat a lot of grass'es and vegatation to.
• Where I hunt is where they've been sighted.
• I've had an encounter with something in a swappy area before. It was about 50 yards behind me and growled VERY deeply as it thrashed around breaking limbs kinda like it was fighting something back behind me.
• It was Loud and seemed to be moveing around makeing all this noise.
• I had my Remington 742 30-06 with me Deer hunting and I'm sitting on a log wondering is that 2 Buck Deer fighting yet buck Deer don't growl like this animal was.
   I thought, was it a Bear ?
• We didn't have Bear then. I was getting scard so I silently made my way to a power line right of way which was about 30 yards from where I was sitting and high tailed it out of there and have never went back !
• Do I believe in Big Foots ? I want to believe they exist but it just doesn't seem logical for them to exist.
• I do believe something is out there because credable people are seeing something and because of it, when I do go hunting I'm mindful of the possible existance of Big Foots so I prepare myself for if I were to have an encounter.
• Some members here know I'm a Christain and try to be funny sometimes
• But in regards to what I've just typed I swear to you all, that critter I had an encounter with was one mad, bad thing makeing a statement to get me to leave and I gladly did !
• Was it a Big Foot ? I'll just say what else could it have been.
  
   Haveing time to think about this I've concluded if it were a Big Foot I most of been close to where it lived because you just had to be there to hear what I heard.

• I also don't know what exists in many of these isolated places.
• The Comanche had legends of of large hairy animals which walked on two feet in the Big Thicket area and the East Texas pine forests.
• Personally, if I ever encountered such, unless it was attempting to harm someone, I would leave it alone. Let legends lay.

• I believe most sightings are by hunter/sportsman. Outdoormans know animals and their actions or reactions to humans.
• When you have reports that sportsman see something different, they sometimes don't believe what they see or have seen! That is what I find so credable about this and makes me beleive.
• The 3 friends I mentioned before had an encounter like you did. They were hunting a plot of land and it was near dusk.
• They were walking out and something was following them. They all heard something big walking towards them thrashing things and approaching them. They said they will never get near there ever again!
• I have spent a good bit of time in really remote areas biking, offroading, and camping. I have never felt threaten or the need to carry something bigger than a buck knive and a handful of firecrackers. I have friends yell at me recently because of not being armed.
• I have 2 family members get the feeling that at night and being outside they are being watched by something.
• They won't spend anytime outside unless I'm outside. Myself I don't get that feeling. Anybody had that feeling or comment come up??

• They had reports of rock throwing when people vistited. The cabin was pretty remote and only accessable by float plane. They get a DNA sample off a board of nails (a trap to keep it out of the cabin)
• I did see a episode of Monsterquest where they had a BF breaking into a remote cabin in Canada.

  The old Salt
• To start off I have had a VERY interesting encounterwhile Bow hunting for deer in Nothern Ontario Canada.
• I was never fond of heights so a ground stalk is my choice, I was stalking a small active game trail about 3 km from my house since before first light and now the sun was up well enough to warm things up and make it nice for a break.
• I found myself a patch of small alders and wedged myself into the trees and snow just like a comfy lazy-boy. Add a warm sunbeam and you know what happened , NAP TIME.
• About 1/2 Hr later I woke with a start to find myself almost nose to muzzle with a small buck but he wasen't looking at me .
• He just stood there vapor locked staring at something just down the trail at something terrifying him.
• When I stood up and turned around looking in the same direction I could see 2 figures slide back into the bush
• About that time the deer realized I was standing beside him and he decided that anywhere was better to be than here. At the same time I was hit with such a feeling that I wasen't welcome where I was and like the deer felt that it was time to get.
• As I made my way back out of the bush I seemed to catch some movement in my periferial vision but I was still dedicated to getting my butt back to a nice safe spot .
• On the walk back home I used to take a shortcut through a swamp that was crossable due to the ice and snow instead of going around it as usual .
• As I started to swing toward the swamp all heck broke loose trees in my path started thrashing back and forth as well as snapping off ( ceders usually don't do this in small copses with no wind)
• as well the feeling of forboding had returned and made it clear that I wasen't even to consider going into that swamp
• This continued for the rest of the time it took to walk out of the bush . Whenever I stopped or slowed too much I was encouraged to be on my way
• a couple times I turned 180 with no warning and caught sight of both of my companions as they ducked back .
• Doing this brought definate anger displays with trees and rocks arcing in my direction .
• I was effectively escorted out of the bush and back to the house .
• I have to admit to being totally terrified and fasinated at the same time .
• I spent the next week not bowhunting but walking the trails hoping for another experience . Nothing to the same degree but i could get deeper into the swamp areas when I didn't have my bow with me ,but when I had my bow I got the tree shaking displays
• Unfortunately a car accident left me a Quad in Hospital and unable to be an onsight involved person.

• I bet a lot of reports go unreported due to they may be ridicule for it. I bet some members that have read this post and not posted have had an experience they can't explain.
• What I find interesting is the Native American Culture all across North America has a different name for Sasquatch, but the description is the same.
• Sasquatch in NA culture is a protector of nature and in him revealing himself to you is a bad omen or warning.
• I do not think that BF is a myth, I for one believe they exist.
