A year or so ago, I started thinking about how great it would be if disabled people from around the world got together and developed a disabled philosophy. It would not only be a philosophy that many disabled people would share, but it would also be a philosophy that all of us who are “ably” limited would get behind and scream in one united voice to the ends of the universe. It was a pie in the sky idea, but when most ideas begin they usually exist in some realm of fantasy or other; and then its not until an attempt at materializing one idea occurs does the rough and disturbing reality of our world invade that first, blissful space.
