INTUTE is a free online service that seeks to provide access to the very best web resources for education and research. Intute's Social Sciences section provides access to Web resources for education and research for the social sciences, including law, business, hospitality, sport and tourism. It was created by bringing together two well-known services of the Resource Discovery Network (RDN): Altis and SOSIG. It is particularly useful for information relating to Britain and Europe. There are links to an astounding number of resources, from an archive of British Prime Minister Tony Blair's speeches to sites on women's history sites and international environmental issues. It is useful as a starting place when you really do not know where else to begin. The intended audience is researchers, academics and practitioners in the various social science disciplines. Subject specialists evaluate and select all material in the Intute database. The site developers have included a collection management policy and stated selection criteria: a feature you do not often see on a website.
