This new site, a partnership of North American libraries and library organizations, is intended for library staff, managers, trustees and volunteers. It provides information on technology (basic computer skills, emerging technologies, security, networking, etc.), information services, patron training, readers’ advisory and technical services. There are also online courses in all aspects of library work including application software, networking, customer service and interpersonal skills, organizational and personnel management and web design and development.

We first explored this site when we looked at subject directories. LII is sponsored by the California State Library and is funded in part with money from the U.S. Federal Library Service. The site gets weekly updates and tries to maintain currency and has been developed with public library patrons in mind.
