Greg Mortenson told an amazing story at ASCD in Orlando about the birth of this organization. He was looking for support to build schools in Afghanistan and a student at his mother's elementary schools said something along the lines of "Mr. Mortenson, I have a piggy bank at home. I think I can help." That school raised $62 K in pennies!
