- By folding the past/outside into the present/strata we can think the relation of self to self = future/freedom.
- Social change = change in knowledge, power, subjectivity. Always variable. The CONDITIONS of these is what interests F. [and D].
- Not universal, always mutation: Historical problematization: What can I do? What do I know? What am I? = THOUGHT
- The fissure between the two types of knowledge (V&S) is Outside=allows thought=makes the two sides communicate, lets Outside IN.
- Folding is itself also a Memory = the real name of the relation to oneself, affect of self on self. Time as subject is called Memory.
- Subjectivity=4way fold (variable): Material; power; knowledge; outside (expectation of immortality, eternity, salvation, freedom).
- Not independent: Self coded in knowledge & diagrammatized in power. BUT also always a relation to oneself which resists codes and powers.
- =not a projection of the inside but an interiorisation of the outside. Not reproduction of the Same but repetition of the Different.
