Official Resources
Home page and other Microsoft provided SharePoint resources
Third Party Software
Applications that integrate with SharePoint. Mostly these are tools to enhance the social network features of SharePoint.
Socialtext offers an enterprise wiki & collaboration tool that works standalone or integrates with SharePoint.
One of a number of possible tools I am looking to bring into our knowledge sharing enviroment at work. I am mostly interested in a mashup with SharePoint.
"Socialtext 3.0 lets your organization work in a way that is open and connected. Because the way work gets done is by pople working with people: tapping into each other's ideas and expertise, leveraging each other's knowledge and insights, re-purposing each other's output."
Atlassian Confluence is a product I am looking at to integrate with SharePoint in our knowledge environment.
Confluence offers some interesting access options including the ability to easily edit a page with Word, Excel or PowerPoint. I understand Confluence and Connectbeam will be hooking up to provide a nice mix of Wiki and Social Bookmarking.
Connectbeam SpotlightTM is an award winning social networking platform for business that connects employees and empowers you to be more innovative. It uses a user-centric approach to facilitate social networks of coworkers and helps them find and share information and expertise easily.
Connectbeam seems to focus mostly on tagging and bookmarking. They take those tags and bookmarks and display them on a users profile page. They hook into other systems that use tags (like Confluence) and bring all the tagged information from both services into a single profile.
The SharePoint integration includes a few web parts, but it does not look quite as polished out of the box as some of the other options.
Newsgater offers a solid Enterprise RSS server system (along with all of the required desktop and web software. They also offer a SharePoint integrated social software system called Social Sites.
Social Sites seems to offer a nice SharePoint integration. They have some nice group, tagging and bookmarking features. The "My Sites" replacement is ok.
SharePoint Blogs
Blogs with some degree of relationship to SharePoint.
