Microsoft's (NASD: MSFT) Xbox Live online game service has resulted in nearly 1 million new
registrants in the U.S. and U.K. over the
past week. -
The company said it created more new user profiles during the first
24 hours of Xbox Live integration than at any other time in the service's
history. The company added that Xbox Live users have streamed over 120 million
minutes of music via Last.fm in the first week.

The organisation says that 30% of Italian households will have become “all digital” by the end of the year. It follows the switch-off in Trentino on October 27 as part of a crucial 90-day period of transition that will culminate with analogue switch off in Lazio and Rome on November 16.
Initial data suggests DTT is available in 90% of households, contrasting with Spain, where according to Digita the highest digital penetration stands at ‘just’ 70%.
Digita estimates that by the end of the year, 62% of Italian households will own a DTT receiver, representing 36 million individuals. The market research organisation Makno puts the number of DTT households at the end of August at 11,725,000, an increase of 600,000 units on July.
