"Luck and Skill Untangled: The Science of Success"
I've been getting a ton of questions about my Survivor Algebra stuff. The original article I had on it was written about three years ago... And a lot's changed since then! My methods have been evolving and I've learned a great deal about the psychology of learning (both through reading and my own interactions with students.) I decided that, instead of answering the same questions over and over again in emails to individuals (which I like getting, by the way), I'd put all the detail here.
NRICH is a team of qualified teachers who are also practitioners in RICH mathematical thinking. This unique blend means that NRICH is ideally placed to offer advice and support to both teachers and learners of mathematics.
The National Numeracy Strategy (UK) has been developing and trialling Interactive Teaching Programs (ITPs). Thirty two ITPs have been placed in the teaching resources area of this website. Each ITP has an introductory guide which shows how to operate the program. These programs have been developed by the Primary National Strategy to provide simple ICT-based images to support modelling, demonstration and exploration of mathematics
