Roush Performance and auction kings Barrett-Jackson have teamed up to offer a limited-edition performance Mustang -- 25 2010 models, and 25 2011 versions. The concept vehicle will be sold at the 8th annual Barrett-Jackson collector car auction in Palm Beach, Fla., to be held April 1-3.

The latest EPA certifications have pushed the 2011 Ford Mustang GT to the top of the performance class with 26 highway miles per gallon in the coupe with the 5.0-liter engine and six-speed manual transmission, and 17 mpg in the city. With the six-speed auto stick, numbers are a tick worse on the highway -- 25 mpg -- and a tick better in town -- 18 mpg. Pretty good for a 412-horse plant out of the box.

The all-aluminum, four-cam heart has 305 horsepower on tap, pouring out at a road-trip-friendly 30 miles per gallon on the highway.

Legendary customizer George Barris was commissioned by Ford to dress up the "his and hers" Mustangs for Sonny and Cher. They were used for publicity and appeared in the 1967 film "Good Times," the duo's only full-length movie together.

World champion drifter Vaughn Gittin has teamed up with Bosch to create what they call Performance Art. The phrase "Performance Art" would normally conjure an image of some performer on a street corner acting out Hamlet using nothing but two grapefruits and a harmonica, but the Gittin and Bosch version is much cooler than that.
