• • IC's "whitewashing" of the govt' role gives a free pass for the gov't to terrorize opposition at home. 
• The problem with Invisible Children's whitewashing of the role of the government of Uganda's president Yoweri Museveni in the violence of Central Africa is that it gives Museveni and company a free pass, and added ammunition with which to bludgeon virtually any domestic opposition, such as Kizza Besigye and the Forum for Democratic Change.

• anxious that the campaign could damage its investment climate, and also aware that it could present an important opportunity.
• Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi speaks solemnly from a chair in his office. “We do not need a slick video on YouTube,” he says, and later adds, “Uganda is a modern, developing country.”

• Instead, they simply conscript our outrage to advance a specific political agenda — in this case, increased military action.
• Mr. Kony has continued to benefit from the patronage of Sudan’s president, Omar Hassan al-Bashir, but even more so from the rivalry between Congo’s president, Joseph Kabila, and the Ugandan president, Yoweri Museveni.

• Killing Mr. Kony may remove him from the battlefield but it will not cure the conditions that have allowed him to thrive for so long.
