В России оборудование LIOS начало применяться с 2006г. для объектов энергетического сектора, как датчик распределеной температуры силового кабеля 110-220кВ вдоль кабельной трассы. Родоначальником применения оборудования LIOS в России с 2006г. по 2008г. являлась компания ЗАО “АББ Москабель”, которая использовала данное оборудование применительно к своему силовому кабелю 110-220кВ с интегрированным в экран оптоволоконным датчиком для последующей более тщательной эксплуатации.
