A site for creating "digital stories". Students can record or type stories, and upload images to accompany them, and then share them via the Internet. Classrooms or schools need a subscription to effectively use the site I think.

Portaportal is a very simple and easy-to-use bookmarking site. It is not as flexible or powerful as diigo or delicious. But it is easy, so novices might like it as a tool for collecting and organizing bookmarks they find.
This is the granddaddy of online apps. Besides providing a way to have your documents available wherever you have an Internet connection, you can also share your documents with other users. There are downsides to this of course, but in general it works very well, and is an acceptable solution for classroom use (read the Google legal agreement though). The apps have a pretty rich feature set.
