their feasts at sundown on
the evening before the holy day. So, for example, the celebration of

Army training at Middle Wallop
Current use of the base at Middle Wallop is for Army pilot training using the Islander, the Gazelle, the Lynx and the Apache AH Mk 1. Can we get them to fly overhead on the same day as the Danebury Ring re-enactment. Middle Wallop airbase was key in the Battle of Britain.

Selection of useful images including the Benwell vallum crossing where the wall meets suburban Newcastle upon Tyne, Housesteads fort & the summit of Sewingshield Crags. It is one of the highest points the wall reaches, with commanding views over the surrounding land.

dancers and ancient crafts. Join in our special
celebrations at Minerva’s shrine in Edgar’s Field.
Come and meet the Romans and Minerva’s owl. There will be a
variety of activities and demonstrations at both venues,
including a Roman blacksmith, leatherworkers, potters,
dancers and crafts for you to take part in. A small
encampment will be at Minerva’s shrine and there will be
priestly offerings each day.

Ermine Street Guard
Hadrian's wall site a definite lead. Also ask Simon what happened in Gloucester on the 19/20th of April 2008, Chris said it would be ideal. The first, British, Roman army re-enactment group. They specialise in the late 1st century army and include legionaries (Legio XX) and auxiliaries.
