Pierre Galin's List: Choosing a film scanner

    • Color   Negatives: You are in big trouble. You may get OK colors, but you'll   probably get garbage. I don't shoot color neg and the few times I've tried   scanning it I got garbage, even on my $3,000 scanner
    • Mike Strickler comes from a family five generations in printing and the graphic arts. He received his BA in art from University of California, Santa Barbara, and has more than thirty years combined experience in photographic and digital workflows. Mike is a certified implementer for EFI Colorproof and Caldera.
    • Kris, I do not think that is the problem as Ed Hamrick, creator of Vuescan, recommends using "Image" and not "Slide Film" in his help manual. I've been doing it that way with good success for years too.<p>Only thing I can think of is that somewhere a color space issue is causing you problems. Perhaps turn off all or most color space settings and do a raw scan, then deal with that in PS later.
