Portals to the World from the Library of Congress
Portals to the World is an International Resources Guide from the LIbrary of Congress. It contains "selective links providing authoritative, in-depth information about the nations and other areas of the world. They are arranged by country or area with the links for each sorted into a wide range of broad categories. The links were selected by Area Specialist and other Library staff using Library of Congress selection criteria. When completed, the project will include all the nations of the world."

BUBL home page
BUBL (Bulletin Board for Libraries), is a subject listing of resources compiled by Library and Information Science Professionals in the UK. There are also many resources of interest to Library professionals. BUBL resources are indexed by subject and by DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification). A keyword search feature is available.

Internet Public Library | School of Library and Information Science, University of Michigan
This is a public library, although a non-traditional one. It has all the staff you expect to find in a library plus a few extras. IPL is a project of the School of Library and Information Science at the University of Michigan. IPL is set out like a library with various divisions and rooms. There are reading rooms and ready reference areas where you will find newspapers, online books, dictionaries, encyclopaedias and almanacs. They have a good listing of assoication on the net and a professional are for librarians covering libraries and technology, professional development, on the job resources and reference. It includes links to library journals and an online reference service.

This is an excellent subject index maintained by Margaret Vail Anderson, a librarian in Cortland, N.Y. It covers a wide variety of subjects from activism to women's resources and each subject lists a librarian's selection of the best resources for that topic.
