Наверное, наибольшее заблуждение относительно учебных сообществ связано с тем, что сообщество является дополнением к учебному курсу. Т.е. предполагается, что у нас есть учебный курс и мы к нему добавляем средства, которые позволяют людям обсуждать учебные материалы. Это чрезвычайно распространенный подход, когда обсуждение и общение между людьми носит вторичный, дополнительный характер. Курс заканчивается - сообщество распадается. В реальности отношения должны быть другими - существующие ресурсы должны быть быть подчинены обсуждению. Сообщество имеет первостепенно значение. Ресурсы имеют второстепенное значение и существуют постольку поскольку существует сообщество. Учебная среда всегда является междисциплинарной. Учебная среда не может быть сконструирована специально для обучения геометрии или философии. Учебная среда воспроизводит приложение определенной научной дисциплины в реальном мире: постройку дома, управление самолетом, расследование преступления. Решение каждой из перечисленных проблем требует изучения нескольких дисциплин. Учебные возможности реализуются в форме взаимодействия с другими людьми, в форме изучения учебных объектов или в форме взаимодействия с преподавателем, но все эти возможности встроены в учебную оболочку.  

Networked learning and connectivism

Networked learning is a subset of connectivism, which consists of eight attributes: 

Principle 1: Learning and knowledge rests in diversity of opinions.

Principle 2: Learning is a process of connecting specialized nodes or information sources.

Principle 3: Learning may reside in non-human appliances.

Principle 4: Capacity to know more is more critical than what is currently known

Principle 5: Nurturing and maintaining connections is needed to facilitate continual learning.

Principle 6: Ability to see connections between fields, ideas, and concepts is a core skill.

Principle 7: Currency (accurate, up-to-date knowledge) is the intent of all connectivist learning activities.

Principle 8: Decision-making is itself a learning process. Choosing what to learn and the meaning of incoming information is seen through the lens of a shifting reality. While there is a right answer now, it may be wrong tomorrow due to alterations in the information climate affecting the decision.
