И уж в любом случае они будут серьезно препятствовать в обозримом будущем началу конструктивного разговора о реальной интеграции – до европейской модели общежития Дальнему Востоку еще очень далеко. Соперничество за лидерство в регионе будет обостряться, а у внешних сил появится масса заманчивых возможностей поиграть на противоречиях.

В России целые поколения людей воспитывались на представлении о том, что наша земля неприкосновенна, а граница - на замке. А в Китае многие, черпая сведения из школьных учебников, полагают, что Китай утратил земли, находящиеся на российском Дальнем Востоке, в результате заключения «неравноправных договоров» между Российской империей и Китаем. Для таких людей новое соглашение не означает, что проблема закрыта. Они, видимо, полагают, что сейчас, когда соотношение сил между Россией и Китаем изменилось в пользу Китая, самое время вернуть Китаю кусок за куском утраченные территории». Выход из сложившейся ситуации эксперт видит в заключении нового всеобъемлющего договора о границе между двумя странами. Такой договор, по его словам, заменил бы собой те договоры XIX века, которые китайские учебники называют неравноправными.

A series of textbooks were handed out, introducing students to the history of the Olympic Games, the various Olympic sports and the rules of play, Olympic symbols and the role of the Olympic Movement as a contributor to international peace and friendship. Photography, painting, poetry, calligraphy and foreign-language speech contests are further means used to promote Olympics in schools.
