Quintura - visual search engine
Amazing beta concept site for visual search using word association to refine search results. From an initial keyword it is possible to scroll over the associated ‘floating’ keywords to choose the best string for the ultimate search result. Works rapidly to reduce the word cloud to workable constraints.

Searchme Visual Search - Beta - rev. 2.0.2
Beautiful public beta site which allows the user to explore web results in full size text and image pages - scroll through the page results, review the associated text and add to your stacks. The ‘stack options‘ allow the user to pick up web pages from the ’scroll view’ and drop them into a named stack such as the latest news in technology, then save your stacks, share with your friends, add more to the stack or keep on searching. A beautiful visual search experience which can include static pages and video from sites such as YouTube.

Wbsearch Metasearch engine
Useful and reasonably rapid meta-search engine using Google, Yahoo, Live and Ask as the key search engines. Once a key term or phrase has been entered into the toolbar the default ‘combination’ search is returned. I really like the additional option of clicking the ‘Google’, ‘Yahoo’, ‘Live’ and ‘Ask’ tabs in turn to create a direct comparison of the top ten results from each of the individual search engines - with results returned ‘only’ by that search engine being highlighted.

Zuula Search - metasearch
Currently able to search the same phrase or keyword from up to ten different search engines - editable in the preference section of the website. The ability to create a combination search result is lacking, but the search response is rapid, the tab structure solid and the meta-search sound. I love this tool as a standard toolbar search platform to save re-typing criteria into multiple alternate engines - it proffers good quality ‘depth’ as well as ‘breadth’. The ability to refine search to include ‘blogs’, ‘jobs’ and ‘news’ is rewarding and a good enhancement to standard search.
