Hmmmm. I never knew this.
Human height is a measurement of the length of a human's body, from the bottom of the feet to the top of the head, when standing erect.
Hmmmm. I never knew this.
Average heights of Americans.

Cool. This gives me an idea of growth rates over time.
The red lines show "percentiles". The thick red line in the middle is the 50th percentile, which indicates that 50% of the population of Men have Height (or stature) taller than the line, and 50% are shorter. Similarly, the lowest red line, the 5th percentile line, indicates the Height where only 5% of the male population is shorter.
This is a "guide" on how to read the chart above.
This is quite interesting. I did not know this. I would think that 6 feet is pretty tall, but then again, I am only a part-time model.
This is absolutely wrong. I don't know where they got this information. There is no citation work at all. They need to shape up.
| What is the formula to predict the future height of teenage boys and girls? I seem to remember something with the ratio of arm span to current height. |
| There is no magic formula to easily predict accurate final adult height. Probably the most useful and standardized method is to use the mean parental height. The formula is as follows: For boys: [Mother's height + 5" + Dad's height] ÷ 2 = Adult Height (+ or - 2") For girls: [Dad's height - 5" + Mother's height] ÷ 2 = Adult Height (+ or - 2") |
Reinforces that there is no true way to determine future height, though we have an idea.
Since I will be taking a survey of teenage heights, this is important information.
