How to create an Image Map in Fireworks for YouTube Channel Branding
1. Go into Fireworks and create (or edit) an image (or banner).
(The file format you will want to use is .png)
2. Use the Rectangle Hotspot Tool under the Web category.
3. Draw a rectangle in each place that you want to make a hotspot.
4. Then for each hotspot, ensure that you have selected it and then
go to the Properties for the selected hotspot (at bottom of screen)
and input the Link URL and any other parameters you want. (You can
optionally change the color of each hotspot so that they are easier to
identify each separate one just by looking at them.)
5. When you have all your hotspots completed, save the .png file
(so that if you want to alter it later, you have the image .png file).
6. Then click: File - Export Wizard...
7. The Export Wizard dialogue box will come up. (If the file needs
to be a certain max size, you can indicate it here (and the file will
be made smaller)) OR if you are ok with the current file size then
click the Continue button.
8. In the next dialogue box, choose Destination: Dreamweaver
9. Then click Exit button and a pop-up box will appear with the
recommended file type, etc.
10. Click Export.
11. It will prompt you where you want to put the image file and the
associated html file. (I recommend putting it in a new folder so that
you can easily find the two files that are created.)
12. Then click Export and the two files will be generated and saved.
13. The 2 files will now be in the folder which you just created.
One is the image mapped file and the other is the HTML code that goes
along with the image map.
14. Next, you will need to import the image (banner) into your
YouTube channel along with the Image Map Code.
15. To do this, log into your YouTube channel and click the Edit
Channel button.
16. Click Branding Options on the left.
17. For the banner for the top of the channel page, go to the
Channel Banner field and browse to the image file that you want to
upload. (It
