  • There has been the myth that libraries are not longer needed because everything is a google search away. However, some people fail to realize that Google decontextualizes information. Most of us as teachers want our students under our subject in context. Now more than ever, the aid of a librarian is valuable to both teachers and student to help everyone navigate through this rapidly changing landscape of information.

• Our Nation's educators and institutions of learning must be aware of -- and adjust to -- these new realities.

  • This is a call for us to take a look at our curriculum again. We can embrace the information age as an opportunity to teach the processes of critical thinking information seeking and research.
