SINOPSE: Brasília, Política, Ministro, Deputados, Senadores, Congresso Nacional. Quando você lê ou ouve essas palavras, o que lhe vem à mente? Compare isso com os seguintes versículos bíblicos:
"Todos devem sujeitar-se às autoridades governamentais, pois não há autoridade que não venha de Deus; as autoridades que existem foram por ele estabelecidas. Portanto, aquele que se rebela contra a autoridade está se colocando contra o que Deus instituiu, e aqueles que assim procedem trazem condenação sobre si mesmos" (Rm 13:1-2).

SINOPSE: Abordamos, neste estudo, um assunto no qual a grande maioria de nós, de uma ou outra forma, não anda em conformidade com a Palavra de Deus: autoridade. SINOPSE: Infelizmente, se existe um "palavrão" na sociologia da família hoje, é a palavra "submissão". A polémica normalmente inclui debate entre dois extremos igualmente desequilibrados: alguns erram ao lado do feminismo radical, clamando por uma libertação generalizada da opressão feminina; outros errando num "neo-machismo" que justifica um domínio masculino que também não  encontra respaldo nas Escrituras.  Como sempre, precisamos voltar à Palavra de Deus para um eqüilíbrio que permite que Deus tenha a última palavra.

SINOPSE: I spent a lot of time pondering the first few verses of Romans 13 last week, verses that speak about authority. Paul is writing to the church at Rome and telling them that each one of them is to actively obey the governing authorities in every situation. He makes no exceptions; he simply commands them to obey all the time-"Let every person be subject to the governing authorities." It's interesting to think about what Paul was commanding here.
I was convicted by God that if I am to give what is owed to those who govern me, those who have been given authority by God, I must learn to give them the money they ask, but also give them the honor and respect they deserve.

SINOPSE: So Far… In responding to criticism, Paul has: * Affirmed those who criticize him by calling them holy and sanctified, thanking God for them, and by declaring them enriched in Christ and spiritually gifted!* Focused his concern on the unity of the Body of Christ, the glory of Christ, and the goal of Christlikeness.* Grounded his identity not in what his critics say about him, not in his own sense of self, but in who he is in Christ and to Christ.
Please stop. Reread that list. Think about someone criticizing you. How would your response to their criticism and your relationship to the person(s) change if you did what Paul did?
