recent update in g doc: collections

"collections" used to be called "folders"

every doc can be in multiple collections

collections = shortcut

tag each doc

if collection is shared, it automatically shows up in yours; like a virtual dropbox

your collections must be shared to do this

Bass shares with his own accounts

once it's unshared the doc will disappear from the sharee's collection

create new> collection (just like folder)>click organize on right and tag it

ex: 1st hour collection shared with 1st hr students, they tag their doc "1st hr"

see drop down on each collection

another possibility is to have student share with you only

Create New> collection at top left

select do to label or tag> now it shows on right. Then "organize" and check box for tags

use search field to search name of file and inside document

use star to mark as "favorites" or "starred"> then click on "Starred" at top left

if you can't find something in "home" go to all items

trash: empties after 30 days
