BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya - A couple were found hanging inside their house Monday night in what is believed to be case of "passion killings" in the northern town of Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya, police said Tuesday.

The bodies of Emily Gallo, 32, and her live-in partner, Rolando Drilon, 34, were discovered by their five-year-old son at their home in barangay Villa Coloma, the town police chief said.

Chief Inspector Joseph Dela Cruz told reporters that the couple owned a barbecue stall at the town market and were described by neighbors to be always at odds with each other.

"Ayon sa mga kapitbahay nila, lagi daw silang naga-away pag dumating sa kanilang bahay galing sa palengke, pero nagtaka sila noong Lunes ng gabi kasi sobrang tahimik daw sa bahay nila (Neighbors said that the two have always been fighting, but on Monday night their house was unusually silent)," Dela Cruz said.

He added that the two may have figured in a big fight, pointing out that Gallo bore hematomas and bruises in several parts of her body.

Police said the boy sought help from neighbors upon seeing his parents hanging, but attempts to revive them were futile.

Gallo and Drilon were the second case of killing and suicide in Bagabag in less than a week, police said.

Last weekend, village officials found the bodies of 16-year-old Rich Cabacungan and her alleged boyfriend, 35-year-old Marshall Estañes, in nearby barangay Villa Quirino.

Police records revealed that Estañes killed young girl with a knife before stabbing himself to death. - GMANews.TV
