The International News, the first new English-language newspaper in Pakistan since the end of martial law and press censorship three years ago, went on sale this week. The paper is being published in Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi in Pakistan, and in London and New York, which have large Pakistani communities. The newspaper is owned by the Karachi-based Jang Group, which also publishes the largest Urdu-language newspaper, Jang. Analysts estimate English-language newspapers here have a combined circulation of about 100,000.
