February 20, 2002, Philippine Star, Italian priest sighted in Zambo Sur with MILF 'lost command',

Italian priest Fr. Giuseppi Pierantoni was reportedly sighted in the municipalities of Zamboanga del Sur.

According to reports, local authorities said Pierantoni was in the custody of a small group of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) "lost command" troops.

This belied earlier reports that the Italian priest was being held by the Pentagon kidnap-for-ransom group.

Pierantoni had been abducted by at least nine men believed to be former Muslim separatist guerrillas in Dimataling Town, Lanao del Sur last October, 2001.
