ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines, July 18 (Xinhua) -- Philippine police captured Wednesday an Abu Sayyaf member involved in kidnapping and beheading a group of Christian missionaries ten years ago.
The suspect was identified as Hadjer Arasani Hadjer Arasani and was captured by raiding police units in his safehouse in Lamitan city at the southern Philippine province of Basilan.
Senior Supt. Alex Linesis, Basilan police provincial chief, said Hadjer has a pending warrant of arrest for six Jehovah's Witnesses.
The suspect was also tagged in deadly drug bust operation two months ago which resulted to the death of one police officer.
The captured suspect was brought to the police headquarters and placed under tactical interrogation to determine his other purpose in hiding in Lamitan City , Linesis said.
