ALL the National Bureau of Investigation needs are the warrants to spring an arrest of eight suspects positively identified as the ones who made and planted the bombs during the Rizal Day bombings last year.

NBI Director Reynaldo Wycoco said the bureau is just waiting

for the justice department prosecution panel to resolve its preliminary investigation on the bombings.

"The case is now for resolution. Once we get the arrest warrants, we'll nab them. We know where they are," Wycoco said.

Wycoco identified the suspects as Hadji Onos, alias Mokles, a Moro Islamic Liberation Front member who is an explosive and demolition expert; a Col. Efren Torres, Sammy Arinday, Amir Dimaampo, Salvin Camama, Ibrahim Guindolongan, Robertp Onyot, alias Berto; and Rogelio Cagadas.

Lawyer Elfren Meneses, head of the NBI Anti-Fraud and Computer Crimes Division and the Rizal bombing investigation's chief, said the suspects acted as mercenaries for another group who wanted to destabilize the Estrada administration.

The bombing at the Blumentritt Light Rail Transit station left 11 dead and 54 people injured, Wycoco said.

The NBI has seven witnesses, four of them were LRT passengers and the remaining three were among those who helped prepare the bombs at Marantao Lodge in Quiapo, he added.

Besides the LRT bombing, there were also explosions at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, near the Dusit Hotel in Makati, in an Edsan bus in Cubao, and at Plaza Fergusun in front of the US Embassy.

The plot was allegedly hatched a month before the bombings and the culprits were promised P20,000 each for their participation.

Wycoco said Onos and Arinday were the "ground commanders" of the bombers. An LRT passenger said he saw Onos leave the bag that exploded inside the LRT coach. Onos allegedly alighted at the LRT Tayuman station.

The Col. Torres, between 55 and 60, acted as the middleman between the group and the bombing masterminds. Wycoco said his men are still trying to find out his real identity.

Arinday, 40 to 45-years-old and 5'5" in height, also gave Onos money to recruit money for the bombing blitz.

Dimaampo, 30, was Onos' companion in Manila. Onyot and Cagadas were seen with Elmer Diamla in a meeting at Antipolo City.

Diamla was arrested in November 2000 trying to enter Malacanang Palace armed with bombs. He was also positively identified as one of the bombers of a Cagayan De Oro mall.

The remaining two suspects, Camama and Guindolongan, acted as partners. Guindolongan, also an MILF member, was identified as the man who planted the bomb at Naia, near the Centennial Air cargo parking lot.
