September 23, 2001, ABS-CBN, 9:41 PM, MNLF denies role in Pagadian city blast,

ZAMBOANGA CITY (ABS-CBN) - The Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) on Sunday denied reports that its combatants are behind the recent bombing incident in Pagadian city, which killed three persons and wounded 11.

Regional Interior Assistant Secretary Habib Jamasali Abdurahman said the accusations may be due to the effort of some persons to create "a scenario" so that the government can blame the MNLF for atrocities that occur in the region.

Abdurahman stressed that the MNLF will not resort to such actions because it respects the peace agreement firmed up with the government.
