October 18, 2012, Malaya, Ranking Abu Sayyaf leader falls,

TWO Abu Sayyaf bandits were arrested in operations in Sultan Kudarat and Basilan in the past two days.

First to fall was Sali Basal Taib alias Gonggong Sali and Abu Husni who was nabbed Tuesday near the Barangay Wall Primary School in Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat. He has a P3.3-million reward for his capture.

Taib is subject of an arrest warrant for kidnapping and serious illegal detention issued by a court in Isabela City, Basilan.

Captured yesterday was Abdula Alad alias Salip Abdulla Magdal/Anwar Muda/Salip Abdullah/Abduwa Salip in Barangay Malamawi, Isabela City.

Alad is a known follower of former ASG leaders Kumanders Global and Robot and was involved in the 2001 kidnapping of Americans Gracia and Martin Burnham in Palawan. Martin died during rescue operations.
