A Quick How-to: Introducing the "Magical" Diigo Button
Diigo's features are rich and powerful, but using it is as simple as clicking the "magical" Diigo button
The Diigo button, found both on the toolbar and in the right-click menu, is the "magical" button through which you can access most of Diigo's rich features. Our system will automatically detect the circumstances under which you click the Diigo button, and prompt you to complete appropriate actions.
Below is a quick explanation on how to carry out various actions by "Diigoing".(Don't worry if this looks a bit complicated, It’s actually quite simple once you try it. We will lead you through an interactive on the page tutorial when you sign up.)
| Command -> Effect | How to do it |
| Diigo a web page -> Bookmark and Tag | Click "Diigo" to bookmark any web page. |
| Diigo a paragragh or picture -> Highlight and Clip | Select a block of text first, then click "Diigo" to highlight and save the text. Note: on any page you've not bookmarked yet, you'll be prompted to simultaneously bookmark that page.(this automatic prompting can also be turned off in the Toolbar Options.) |
| Diigo a highlight -> Sticky Notes | Move your cursor to an area you've already highlighted, then click "Diigo" to add Sticky Notes to yourself (private) or the Diigo community (public). |
| Diigo any of the above to friends -> Forward | Click "Diigo" and select "Forward" tab on the pop-up window to forward the link along with any annotated content to friends. |
