Why/How/Where
The cubing strategy can be used to help student's
consider multiple aspects as they're writing, or various dimensions of
a reading piece that must be considered in order to comprehend it. With
the cubing strategy, a teacher can actually use a giant cube (made out of
cardboard or posterboard) to concretely demonstrate the six sides involved
in writing a comprehensible piece or reading a passage. The sides include:
describe it, compare it, associate it, analyze it, apply it, argue for/against
it (give your opinion).
