After choosing a piece of artwork and researching the artist, the students create a “tableau vivant”, or “living picture”, image – one in which they dress up, pose for, and become the subject in the image.
n CyberArts, students discuss and look for various forms of visual art available through technology. Students study famous paintings, graphics, and photographs by searching online museums and art resource websites. After choosing a piece of artwork and researching the artist, the students create a “tableau vivant”, or “living picture”, image – one in which they dress up, pose for, and become the subject in the image. A picture is taken of them with a digital camera and then manipulated in Adobe Photoshop Elements in order to recreate the image as closely as possible, with their own image in the artwork. The result is wonderful, and the students develop an advanced appreciation of the artwork as well as the technology involved in recreating the image.
