bnweeksThis website is a great source to use when teaching the standard of eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells. Not only does it teach about eukaryotic cells, but it does so in a way that is broken down into plant cells and animal cells because they are both very different and similar in their anatomy. This website has various interactive pages that students could use to review these cells during class.
The first page, after the introduction, talks about prokaryotes. On this page, it gives the student a chance to review the parts of a prokaryotic cell, and then it gives a quiz based on this information. After each question of the quiz, it tells the student whether they answered correctly or not. This is a great source because it allows for the student to quiz themselves, but at the same time, they can go back and review the right answer if they answer incorrectly. Following the prokaryotic section are the plant and animal cells.
After that, this website gives the students a chance to construct their own prokaryotic/eukaryotic cell. This is my favorite part about the website because it is such a great way for the students to ensure that they know what these cells look like. This website is just very interactive, unbiased, current, and credible. The source is credible because it originates from a book written on Biochemistry and all of the information is gives is correct. I know this due to my previous knowledge of the content, but also because of other research conducted. -

Lottie PeppersThis interactive lesson on cells provides information on types of cells and allows students to build a virtual cell. The stated objectives are:
- Recognize the differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells
- Recognize the differences between animal and plant cells
- Understand the function of organelles in these different cells.InteractiveConceptsInBiochemistry cells interactive cell_structure cell_function prokaryote eukaryote plant_cell animal_cell
