I think wikipedia is a great resource of information is one knows how to properly use it.
1) use it as a guide to find original information(reference listed at bootom of pages)...if such is not provided you may have reached a dead-end
2) it also provides access to up-to-date information since it can be updated quickly anytime.

Wikipedia generally has an article on everything, the English encyclopedia having the most.
Anyone is allowed to edit Wikipedia articles, except for certain articles where there have been constant revert wars. Recently, some corporations have been altering Wikipedia articles en masse, specifically the CIA.
