I know that smart people and people that always strive to overacheive and do their best are great for America, but aren't the people that don't do their best and end up with a lower class job the people that keep our country running, like the garbage men, custodians, factory workers, assembly line workers, etc.?

This does not seem like propaganda to me. If you read it from beginning to end is only smells like good advice.

This Presidential speech to kids is long overdue. Very nice.
I fear that this bit reinforces the idea that education is a necessary evil, though. I prefer the views of Dewey, Lindeman, and Knowles--"Education is superficially conceived when viewed as a preparation for life. Education IS life." (from Lindeman's "Meaning of Adult Education," 1926)
