Here is a shortcoming (bug) of the DiiGo annotation engine.
I made two annotations, one on the first occurrence, the second on the second occurrence. But the second annotation did override the first one. Suggestion for solution. DiiGo programmers, please put the overwritten annotation back in page comments. For the user, please use different annotation contexts, on the page, if you want to place different annotations.

      Diigo:wiki annotation footnotes markers
      [1].
As footnotes are probably available in more wikis, and because the
useful built in counting mechanism, it appears to the author even
better to use them as annotation markers.
  • invite annotations
    • on 2006-12-06 Fridemar
The invitations go to all Diigos. This is for the mutual benefit of the base (wiki-) community, whose pages get a wider exposure when annotated, as for the annotating Diigo community and its affiliated social bookmarking communities.

This is a revolutionary use of tag combinations, that make mono categorizing of wiki pages superfluous. It is a generalization of Wiki Page Names.

TagCombinations are a superior way to organize Web-, especially Wiki Pages.

Using the social annotation service DiiGo, this can be realized for all wikis in the world, now 2006-12-06.

      '''Benefits:'''

      * No separate extension of the different wiki-engines necessary
      * complements mono topic oriented Category System in wikis
      * allows AccidentalLinking in the set of all wikis, who use Diigo Tagging.
      * is an essential step towards universal WikiWeaving and WebWeaving

  • How often did you see text with understrokes, clicked on it and became disappointed, because it was not clickable.
    • on 2006-12-13 Fridemar
For convenience of the annotation-blind-people and because the Beta of
Diigo sometimes doesn't display the annotations, here is a downcopy of
my last annotation for translation into French. Only
annotation-enhanced people can see the formatted annotation in its full
      glory. Sorry.

Bonjour, Christophe ( ChristopheDucamp): congratulations: you, Hans  ( HansWobbe ) and myself appear to be the first three people, who realize SocialAnnotations?,
i.e. interacting via annotations, communicating useful ideas, concepts,
collaborating in this new public space of DiigoAnnotations?.

There are three methods to make your annotations private:

         1. In the DiigoToolBox? there is a resp. option box
      2. In your DiigoBookmarksSection? there are actions ("cconvert to private/public")
      3. In the DiigoAnnotationDialogWindow?, when making a StickyNote?, there is an option box.

It could be possible, that you don't have the newest DiigoToolBox? FireFoxPlugin? installed.

Of course, if there is another SocialAnnotationPartner

?, you are welcome to join true SocialAnnotating?.

As soon as Diigo has enhanced its annotation service by a WikiEngine, we could easily find SocialAnnotationPartners? by clicking the automatic link: SocialAnnotationPartnersWanted?.

      Note:

All CamelCaseWikiWords above  got  an  automatic  wiki link  by   DownCopy  and  UpCopy of the annotation into the MeatballWiki.

    Dear Diigos,
what about inviting Diigo annotations on your own website or your favorite wiki, what do you think about this social annotation practise:
    • Make a DiiGo mark on your page to invite and signal DiiGo annotations/bookmarks/clipping
    • Give a make your (one or more) tag combinations on the annotated page
    • Leave a link back to DiiGo's tag-combination-page, as shown on this page.
    • Leave your tag-combinations in the annotations itself
