NHS workers are demanding a new pay rise amid claims that the troubled economic climate could lead to severe staff shortages in the health service.
The GMB and other NHS unions have joined forces to press the Government to re-open talks, claiming that a 2.4 per cent pay rise next year would not be enough as inflation continues to soar above five per cent.
