Assignment 2
Thinking with Type will be great online resource to have on hand. This site has typographic basics in an easy to understand format, including great examples of how one might lay out letters or text. I have not yet taken a typography class, but feel like i've already learned a lot just by browsing the pages. -

Linda QuijanoI chose the topic of typography. I want to know more about the impact on readers because, unless you have a background in visual art or graphic design, you may read countless documents, books, packages, web pages and other items without ever thinking about the actual design of the letters on the page. But if you take a close look, it becomes apparent that there are a wide variety of subtle and not-so-subtle differences between one style of lettering and another. Typography is the art and the craft of designing the letters themselves as well as the many other factors that influence the appearance of the letters--or type--on the page. I chose this site because it explain the topic of typography in a very complete.

Nicky SorgmanThe site i've chosen to bookmark is thinking with type. I was first directed to this site by my typography teacher last semester and have since purchased the book as well. This website is very useful in many ways, from tracking and kerning to the anatomy of fonts. I think over all this is great site to solve your typography needs or questions. I definately recommend purchasing the book.
