Mariko HayashidaGoogle Trendsは特定のキーワードが検索全体に占める相対的割合を世界の各地域別に示してくれる。(言語別の割合も分かる)。Web 2.0という言葉は、2004年末にTim O’Reillyが最初のWeb 2.0カンファレンスを開催したあたりから使われるようになった。検索回数は2005年半ばから上昇し―ちなみに、この頃TechCrunchがWeb 2.0の動きをモニタする″というキャッチフレーズでスタートしている―2007年末まで上昇を続ける。その後、トレンドは明らかに下り坂に向かい、現在は2006年初め頃と同じレベルまで落ちている。このままでいけば、2011までにはWeb 2.0を検索エンジンで調べる人はほとんどいなくなっているだろう。
