Luke WelchAn exceptional website with a lot of in depth information but showed in a bright colourful and easy to understand way which is perfect for children. This website also a link right on the front page to the objectives which are being covered which is great for teachers to establish exactly what each activity in the website is covering. The website is very hands on and enables the students to get very involved in measurement. Sperry Smith (2009) states that "Older children begin to use customary (English) units or the metric system". I believe this website is more aimed towards higher years in primary school which have grasped this concept and are able to fully utilise the website to the best of its potential.

Measurement is considered to be one of more important strands of mathematics. Teachers should provide a safe and well structured environment that allows children to explore the concepts of measurement. Measurement is all around in everyday living which makes it easier to relate it to the context of the children's lives. The reading "How big is your foot?" suggested that teachers need to teach the student to use measurement and then 'develop knowledge, skills and understanding in identifying and quantifying the attributes of shapes and objects and applying measurement strategies" (New South Wales Mathematics Syllabus, 2002, p.8). Van De Walle supports this statement by providing ways for teachers to teach measurement to the students, 'you will learn how to help students develop a conceptual understanding of the measurement process and the tools of measurement."(Van De Walle et al, 2010, p.369). The selected website has both interactive activities to do online as well as work sheets; the activities provided can also stem ideas on how to better incorporate learning measurement into the classroom and therefore further the students learning.M405 Marker measurement math capacity smartboard interactive length mass

Heather SchrackTeaching Measures is a great website to introduce the metric system. It allows teachers to interact using the whiteboard with students. It also provides printable sheets for assessment. It provides objectives and standards. Unfortunately, the standards are not US National standards. This website is appealing to the eye and is easy to navigate.
