About Slide For almost a decade "push" has been a four-letter word in Silicon Valley. The demise of PointCast and its ilk is one of the better-documented industry dramas. Today, bandwidth prices have gone down tremendously and broadband is in over half of connected US households. People expect convenient ways to publish and view the heaps of digital content produced today, from mobile phone photos to podcasts. RSS and related technologies are helping bridge the gap, but are frequently too complicated for non-techie folks. That's what Slide is all about: helping you find, play, and share the media you care about. About Us Slide is being built in the Financial District of San Francisco by * Ken Brownfield, a nobleman among system administrators, * Lori Clerkin, goddess of the 2nd floor, * Kevin Freedman, who is the keeper of the cash, * Kate Handel, who feels like she's back in college again, * Bobby Joe, who has been breaking things since five, * Raoul Kahn, Slide's own resident dj, * Jared Kopf, occassional visionary who came up with the name "Slide", * Michael Lorton, who denies responsibility for any of this, * Johnnie Manzari, who enjoys no longer having to commute to Adobe, * Sergio Villarreal, who has alarmingly high caffeine levels in his bloodstream, * Libor Michalek, who at this very moment is writing server code you will soon be enjoying, * Michael Powers, a startup veteran who just doesn't learn, * Donovan Preston, who loves Python a little too much, * Jeremiah Robison, who invented the Internet (for the phone), and * Max Levchin, who co-founded and was CTO at PayPal. We need awesome people to join us. If you see the potential in the changes we are trying to bring about, contact us at jobs (at) slide (dot) com - it's a fun job, and someone's got to do it. Especially if you hack Windows, Mac, and/or Python, or like to think through features, and have fistfight
