The website I chose to contribute is:  "Resources for School Librarians" (http://www.sldirectory.com/index.html). This website was formerly known as: "School Libraries on the Web", which was discontinued. The site is now maintained by a retired Philadelphia librarian named Linda Bertland.  The website is very simple in design and is easy to navigate, especially with it's search tool. Basically, the website is an index with links to websites which are useful to school librarians.
This index has some wonderful headings under which are listed various topics with links such as: Collection Development Policies, Program Integration and Flexible Scheduling, Information Skills Lesson Plans, and Writing Library Web Pages. This website would be an invaluable tool for the school library media specialist (I still like the term school librarian).  From the link, Writing Library Web Pages, I found a link to Homemaker Online, which haves you put in all your school information and it makes the website for you! This is a free site (as best I can tell) sponsored by AT& T education webpage.
I am so glad that I found this librarian's index page; I am quite sure that I will use many of the resources linked to this site. Working in an elementary/middle school library, so many questions arise, not only my questions, but those from teachers and students. It will take some time to fully explore this site, but I am sure that it will provide some excellent resources for the school library personnel. Â
