hmjarvis722I chose this website as a resource because of the interactive qualities. The website was child friendly and age appropriate. It would help students learn location of continents and oceans by playing the games. The website was up to date and had accurate information. The website did not have too many advertisements and was easy to navigate. The website was thorough in what the topic was about and was not biased to any particular continent. The website also had other similar topics and helpful learning tools listen on the side and at the top of the page. This website would help keep the students involved in interested in the subject. The website could be used as a homework tool or, if you have the equipment, during class. The students can identify continents and oceans on the map and differentiate between them. They could help each other in groups or teams to identify the continents and oceans on the map. The website has clear instructions for easy use and understanding of the students.

The page is eye-catching and filled with fun pictures. The game, "World Continents", will be great to use to teach and test the students' knowledge about the location of the continents and oceans of the world.
I can use this site to engage student learning about the location of the oceans and continents. First, I can present the site to the class through a smart board. I will show the students how to use the site. I will use the site to review the locations of the continents and oceans. I will then let the students use the site to learn and test their knowledge.

Kellie ColeThis is a good website for students to practice the continents. Students can click on the continents to learn them. The website pronounces the continents and oceans so students are able to hear how to say each continent as they click on it. Also, after one clicks on a continent or ocean you can read facts about that particular place. Students can also quiz themselves on their continents and oceans by moving up different levels.

Accuracy- information is very accurate
Purpose- the purpose of this website is for students to be able to learn about the continents and oceans of the earth
This website is used for students to learn about the differnet oceans and continents in the world. They give differnet levels of difficulty so students can work at different levels and it helps them work in different paces.
I would use this website in a classroom for children to review the different oceans and continents. After learning the different areas they can keep reviewing and practicing with this website.
Geography is the curricular area involved.
The visual principles are very good. The website is centered and very easy to use.

Rachael PietrocolaThis game has 4 different levels for students to choose from. The beginner level gives students the name of the continents and oceans and the most difficult requires students to type in the first three letters of the continent or ocean. The layout is a bit busy but other than that this is a great tool for reinforcing the continents and oceans

Rebekah MenkPurpose: To scaffold students learning about the continents and oceans of the world.
Bias: There is no bias as this is a game rather than text.
Credibility: Mr. Sheppard has been designing educational computer software since 1982. He has a team of people behind him including an educational consultant. They design software to make learning more fun and to challenge students at varying levels.
Currency: Copyright 2007 Sheppard Software
Author: Brad Sheppard, Jr. is the founder of Sheppard Software.
Readability: Students of all ages can use this website because in the tutorial level, the continents and oceans are read aloud to the learner when they are clicked. Students in primary grades may need help initially with the overall directions of each level. There is also information on the side about each continent and ocean which may be more suitable for 3rd-5th grade.
Advertising: There is minimal advertising on this website, however there is a lot going on! There are so many links for students to click on. Even though these links are to other educational games, this may prove to be distracting.
Summary: This interactive online tutorial and game allows students to work their way through four levels of difficulty about continents and oceans.
How would I use this in my classroom: This tool could be used in many ways. I could use the tutorial level to introduce this particular lesson, or it could be used later on with students who are struggling. The later levels could be worked through independently during centers. I think the ability to differentiate with this tool is great! -
