Debra GottslebenThis site is sponsored by the National Center on Response to Intervention which was formed by the American Institutes for Research and researchers from Vanderbilt University and the University of Kansas -- through funding from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP). The Center’s mission is to provide technical assistance to states and districts and building the capacity of states to assist districts in implementing proven models for RTI/EIS. The site provides information suitable for educators, parents, and researchers with numerous links to resources and tools/interventions both for screening as well as monitoring progress. Additionally a state database provides resources and policy documents on a state by state basis. The site is organized in four main areas:
Knowledge production activities to determine which tools, practices, and implementation strategies are deemed scientifically valid and appropriate for TA&D;
Expert training to help support implementation of RTI;
Information dissemination activities that will help get RTI information out to interested parties;
and an evaluation center, with formative assessments to help improve the delivery of services.
