Elevating Biden suggests that the Obama campaign has decided to have an argument. Not try to win on momentum and inspiration and GOTV, but to engage, and win, an argument about which set of ideas is better for the future of the country.

Biden has been running for president since the 80s and never proven popular with Democratic voters at large
Biden has a voting record that is far from liberal or populist despite many good votes.

Biden is not strong on foreign policy. He is a dillettante in it, but so is McCain - it does not matter as MSM will say it is, so it will be the Truth. But he is a hawk, so how does that differ from GOP?

At the very least, this pick should end the argument over whether Obama is a progressive. He's clearly not.
Could his pick have been worse? Certainly. But the message in picking Biden is loud and clear: a ringing endorsement of the status quo.
Yes we can!

essentially Obama found out that Clinton was right.

there are a lot of people who believe that Barack Obama represents a challenge to the status quo, rather than an affirmation of it. These people have been bamboozled. It seems important to try to counteract this fraud.

A President Barack Obama would work to preserve: a political process dominated by business; an imperialistic foreign policy and an absurdly swollen military budget; a moralistic, Christian assault on individual freedom; a tepid, piecemeal approach to climate change and other environmental problems; et cetera.
Granted the same could just a surely be said about a President Hillary, but at least people would have had no illusions, and progressives would have been pressuring her from the left at all times, rather than carrying water for her like they are doing for Barack.

my "Obama Derangement Syndrome" as you call it, has more to do with Obama and his faithful band of followers putting on like Barak is some kind of Messiah when he is just a sleazy political hack. That's not to say that "Obama Derangement Syndrome" as you call it does not exist, but it is the province of deranged Obama supporters
