explore how the web is changing our world, creating a culture in which more people than ever can participate, share and collaborate, ideas and information.
We have access to clouds of data, coming from machines, sensors, networks. But how much more do we know? How can we make information intuitively meaningful?
New interactions develop into new design practices; new processes induce new forms of creativity. How can creators involve the people they want to create for in their work?
The contexts in which designers, brands, companies, and individuals operate have been changing radically in recent years. We need to find new ways of innovating and perhaps even redefining what we mean by design.
There are several subjects I'd like to see dealt with in such a context: - the relationship between institutions (seen as structures that organsie society that are both a help and a hinderance) and the individual (as a source of creation and particularity). - the shortcomings of current democratic processes (with the delegation of responsibility to the elected few) to handle the complexity of the modern world - the lack of 'places' for constructive transgression in our society (where it is possible to say that the king is naked without getting your head cut off).
