lukehagueWe can't afford a program like auralia or musition cloud for all our students so practicing and getting feedback on some basic theory can be challenging.
This website enable students to build this foundation if they don't have the knowledge prior.
I can also create particular levels of exercise and get a link which I can send to the students to complete a particular task at a set difficulty. The students can then create a personalised code for their work which they send to me and I can check. The report that comes up shows how long, how many questions, the level and how they went.
Really good for reinforcing content taught in class for younger year levels and as a tool for students with limited background knowledge to get themselves up to speed. -

I am so excited to have found this resource. It is new to my toolbox and cant wait to explore it more. This allows gifted students access to music theory curriculum and gives them a sequential process for learning note names, values, reading staves, keys, accidentals and more. It provides games that allow the student to learn at their own pace and download items from staff paper to theory exercise worksheets. I think this resource provides a fast pace and the rigor many students who are gifted or want to learn independently might need.
As a critique of this site, some of the lessons require you to buy or download and additional app, which might prevent some from using this resource. Especially if students do not have access to the internet or digital devices at home.

steveinczeThis is a great resource for teaching music theory at the basic levels. Concepts are well explained and animated in a pleasing and clear graphic display. Online quiz-based drills and practice tools round out the possibilities.
The higher-level theory content is a bit thin, but this website is a useful addition to a teacher's toolbox, if not an all-in-one solution., -
